C&D Home Inspections

Review: C&D Associates inspected my home prior to the purchase in December 2012. The home inspection report clearly states that a french drain is present in the basement. I recently noticed water in the basement and contacted a couple of third parties to provide an estimate to repair the french drain and fix the water leakage. The third parties, who are expert basement service providers, stated that the home inspector was wrong in the assessment and there was no french drain installed in the property. I am only disputing the claim by the home inspector on his home inspection report about the presence of a french drain.

I contacted C&D Associates and spoke once to James [redacted] who said there may have been a "typo" in the report and promised to look in to the issue. I called several times for almost 2 weeks to follow up but my phone call was never answered or returned.

C&D Associates chose to ignore the problem after realizing their mistake. I would like to bring to the attention of Revdex.com that C&D Associates does not know what a "french drain" is and should not be a trusted service provider for home inspection services.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of the home inspection fees I paid to C&D Associates. Since there was a legitimate mistake on the home inspection report by the home inspector and the home inspector verbally agreed over the telephone that there was a "typo" in the report I would like C&D Associates to refund the $390 paid as home inspection fees. I don't understand how someone can clearly spell out a typo as "french drain" multiple times on a single report. This can only happen if the home inspector did not know what a "french drain" is.
