We are very sorry that you had a bad experience with our company but we believe that we have bent over backwards in an effort to make you happy. We were able to help you with your insurance claim and we were successful in getting you a new lifetime roof on your house. You have many
complaints, so I will address each one individually below:1) Your roof was torn off and replaced entirely in one day. The gutter work was completed two weeks later again in one day. The four months from start to finish that you seem to be referring to is not in reference to the physical work but to the fact that the insurance company did not issue your final check to you in a timely manner. Unfortunately this is out of our control.2) You accused us of breaking your soffit and fence and we were able to show you that both issues were due to rotting wood and we have pictures to prove this. 3) Your yard and driveway were swept with magnets and returned to a cleaner condition that before the work was started. This is the first time that this concern has been discussed.4) The roof ventilation system that was installed is in perfect condition and we have offered to prove this to you which you have declined.5) The ridge on the front of your house was not an architectural feature, it was Aluminum drip edge that was replaced with the roof.As for the demand for the $refund, we are not sure why or where you came up with this figure. Again, we are very sorry that you are unhappy with our work. We have many, many satisfied customers and look forward to helping many more in the future

First and foremost, CD Strong believes in bending over backwards to make our customers happyUnfortunately, it appears that no matter how
hard we try, we cannot please everyone
Mr***'s roof on his rental house was completed soon after he signed the contractThe contract stated that a progress payment was to be made on the day of the roof installThis did not happen
Mr*** stated that he wanted all of the work completed and his entire house re-sided before he pays us anythingThis again was not the agreement and the insurance estimate for the damages is clearly only paying for square feet of siding to be repaired
Once notified of the misunderstanding Mr*** became verbally and physically abusive with my salesman and my work crews
CD Strong has since canceled the remaining contract on the rental houseThe roof work has been completed at the amount that the insurance company agreed toThe rest of the repairs still need to be completed, but Mr*** still has the insurance funds to do this work
We were also under contract to complete storm repairs on Mr***'s personal residenceWe had his roof scheduled to be completed immediately after his rental home's roof but it rained for the next four days
As is procedure in the Roofing Industry, Mr***'s roof was loaded with materials to complete the jobThis in no way did any damage to his roof and it was to be replaced anyway
We received a notice that Mr*** was canceling his contract on his residence's roof with CD StrongWe notified our supplier and they have since sent a crew to recover the materials and are charging a re-stocking fee
No funds were ever received for the repairs on Mr***'s residenceThe funds that were received for his rental property were only for the completed roof work and he still has insurance funds to complete the work
There have been some very serious communication issues with this customer and again we are sorry that we could not make him happy

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/09/17) */
CD Strong was contacted by this customer and at the time the customer was notified that an outstanding balance in the amount of $is still open on a rental property that was also repaired for them at the same timeWe are happy to honor
our warranties as long as the invoice is paid
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/09/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
CD Strong's assertions are false, and are being used as an excuse for his failure to honor the contracted warrantyThe facts are as follows:
On June 2, 2011, I contracted with CD Strong to replace my roof at Florence Ave., Evanston, ILThe contract contains the following Warranty: "Warranty is for years on roof replacement."
CD Strong performed the replacement in August I timely paid the full amount due to CD Strong
I did not contract with CD Strong to perform any work on any other propertyAs of 2011, I did not own, and continuing to the present, I do not own any rental property
In June of 2014, I discovered that due to faulty work by CD Strong, water was leaking through my roofI therefore contacted CD Strong to request that it honor its warranty obligations and fix the leakDave, a CD Strong representative, promised to fix the leakHe said nothing about any balance allegedly owed for repairs to the roof on any other propertyHowever, CD Strong did not follow through
On July 22, 2014, I contacted CD Strong a SECOND time to request that it honor its warranty obligations and fix the roof leakAgain, Dave, a CD Strong representative, said he would "send a crew"And again, he said nothing about any balance allegedly owed for repairs to the roof on any rental propertyHowever, CD Strong did not follow through
On June 25, 2015, I contacted CD Strong a THIRD time to request that it honor its warranty obligations and fix the roof leakAgain, Dave, a CD Strong representative, promised to fix the leakAgain, he said nothing about any balance allegedly owed for repairs to the roof on any rental propertyAgain, CD Strong did not follow through
On July 13, 2015, I contacted CD Strong a FOURTH time to request that it honor its obligations and fix the roof leakThis time, Dave, the CD Strong representative, informed me that my former spouse had contracted with CD Strong to perform roof work on his homeHe informed me that there was an outstanding balanceI informed Dave that I was not married to my ex-husband in 2011, when CD Strong alleges it performed repairs to my ex-husbands homeI have been divorced since December I further explained that I did not at that time, and still do not, own my ex-husbands homeAnd I did not contract for repairs to my ex-husband's homeI am not a party to any dispute between CD Strong and my former spouse
Any dispute that CD Strong has with my former spouse for repairs to his home are unrelated to my contract with CD Strong for work on my roofCD Strong cannot assert as a defense to its warranty obligations to me any non-payment of amounts allegedly owed by my former spouse for wholly unrelated and separate work on a different property that I do not ownCD Strong should promptly honor its warranty obligation, including compensation for the further damage done to my property as a result of CD Strong's faulty work and failure to honor its warranty obligations
Sincerely,
Denise ***

We installed Mr. [redacted]'s roof last fall and then scheduled the gutter crew for the install per the contract. The gutter crew showed up at the customer's house back in November and was told that because Christmas lights were recently...

installed that he did not want the gutters replaced. CD Strong then gave Mr. [redacted] a credit for the unfinished gutter and he was charged for ONLY the roof replacement.
We will be more than happy to replace Mr. [redacted]'s gutters if he is interested in paying for them. This will require a new agreement.

My sales person, [redacted] contacted me 2 months after the roof was completed and informed me the gutter crew could install in mid November. By this time I already had the xmas lights hung on the gutters and told him I'd call back in Jan once the lights were removed. I will not agree to a new contract as the original agreement has not been completed as stipulated and I never agreed to a credit. I want the gutters replaced per the terms and conditions of the originall contract.

First of all, we at CD Strong take all of our customers concerns very seriously and always make every attempt to bend over backwards to make our customers happy.I have personally looked into your complaint and it appears that you have left out some very important details.  When you first met...

with CD Strong you agreed that if your insurance company paid to replace your roof that CD Strong would complete the work for you.  We assisted you in filing the claim and we met your adjuster from your insurance company and pointed out the damage that we found in our original inspection.  Your adjuster agreed with us and then sent you a check in your name paying for your roof to be replaced.  No money is ever expected until the day that we start work.A representative from our company then came back and sat down with you to go over all of the paperwork and to pick you shingle colors.  You then signed an additional agreement clearly stating that we were to complete the work for the insurance funds only and detailing the exact work that we would perform. Not long after this you called and said that you wanted to use another company to replace your roof and wanted to be released from your agreement.  At this point our company has many hours invested in your project and also materials were ordered so we were not able to release you from the agreement.  By the way, the same roofer that you wanted to use to complete your repairs replaced your daughters roof and I can tell you that they used sub standard three tab shingles and that they installed them improperly voiding any manufacturer's warranty. We are accredited by the Revdex.com and have been so since 2012 so we are allowed to use their logos.  In fact we currently have maintained an A+ rating with the Revdex.com over all these years which is a great accomplishment.CD Strong has replaced several dozen of your neighbors roofs over the past couple of months and every one of them has been more than happy with our service.  In fact, you will be seeing in the near future many compliments and happy reviews on this site from these customers.  We are sorry that you couldn't be one of them.

I have completed my research on this issue and have submitted a response. The problem was corrected some time ago. I apologize for the delay in my response.
