I am rejecting this response because:I noticed once I left CDL Tire that my gas gauge was still not working but I chose not to return because I felt that the problem would not be resolved I had been lied to by Mr*** several times through this whole ordeal and did not feel comfortable having him do more services for me on this matterMr*** had initially told me it would be a day period that I would be without my vehicle When I contacted *** *** myself, I was told Mr*** told them not to hurry because I had a second vehicle to get around in How would they know I had another vehicle had he not told them? I needed my cluster back ASAP because my day tag was about to expire but I landed up having to get a day extension anyway because of the length of time it took The second time Mr*** lied to me was when he told my car salesman it would take hours of labor on this and turned around and said he never told him the amount of time it would take He has a sign hanging by the cash register that labor is $65.00/hour that is where I got the $from The reason it took him hours just to remove the cluster is that once my vehicle was in the shop, Mr*** would not just work on my vehicle only he was working on other vehicles as well or helping his other technicians work on other vehicles as well? I know this because I never left the vehicle alone with him, I would take it by after I got off work for him to either remove or put the cluster back in and I saw how long it took for him to do this At home, my husband performed a OBD scan which brought the diagnostic code for a poor fuel sensorMr *** has this same capability at his business and did not perform this routine diagnosticI then searched the Internet to find what the fix could be, which yielded a recall for the fuel sensor.I decided to get a hold of *** *** *** in Amarillo, Texas in regards to the recall because my initial reason taking it to CDL Tire was not fixed but instead *** *** fixed my gas gauge problem the first time and it was free No OBD scan was ever done on my vehicle by CDL Tire, Mr*** was more guessing at the problem instead of getting a firm diagnosticHe assumed it my cluster and I kept telling him it was my gas gauge I got charged for something I did not ask him to work on which was my speedometer. Please note that I am only trying to get my part of the bill refunded back to me which is $NOT the car salesmans part as well

I am rejecting this response:I did not return to Mr*** to prevent me paying a second time for work I never asked him to doI went to CDL for the fuel gauge not reading correctly that is it! There was only one gauge reading incorrectly and that was my fuel gauge! Mr*** immediately said that when the fuel gauge goes out usually the speedometer goes out at the same time or soon after I never had problems with my speedometer itself He immediately diagnosed the problem without placing it on any machine and as I have mentioned before, I was always with my vehicle when it was at his facility and I never saw him connect any diagnostic machine to itIf he would have put it on a diagnostic machine it would have showed code Pwhich indicates a fault in the fuel sending unitMy husband connected an OBD II scanner to my vehicle when I told him this problem was still occurringThis would not effect any work that Mr*** would have performedHad Mr*** performed this diagnostic I believe he would have been able to fix this issue correctlyMr*** not only ignored a common place diagnostic, but he also ignored what me, his customer was asking him to fix.

Dear Revdex.com,Mrs *** came in with a Trailblazer SS with two issues; the speedometer read incorrectly and the fuel gauge was malfunctioningA common issue with GM's from approx 2003-is a malfunction in the dash clusterThe primary issue is a part in each gauge called a "stepper" motor
slowly wears out causing the gauge to read incorrectly, be intermittent and sometimes not work at allThe common thing to do is either order a rebuilt cluster from a parts store or have the original unit rebuiltIn this case, it was much cheaper to pull her original unit and send it offThe common labor to R&R this unit a single time is one hour; I had to pull it once to get the oem numbers off the back and put it back in, then I had to pull it again to send it off to *** *** to be rebuilt and sent back to me and then reinstalledThis equaled almost two hours of work, not minutes as stated by customerAlso, there were three stripped screws from someones previous removal of the dash trim that I had to removeAt no point and time did I say it would be labor for this repairWhen the vehicle left my shop after the repair, the fuel gauge and speedometer were working correctlyI never heard another thing from Mrs*** until almost months later when she came by my business asking for a refundI asked her why she didn't let me know much sooner,(such as within a couple weeks) that there was a problem; she simply stated that she didn't want me working on her vehicleI refused to give her any kind of refund because: 1, she never let me know there was a problem, within a reasonable amount of time, and therefore never gave me a chance to rectify it2: Numerous other people and shops have worked on it since I have, therefore I have no idea if another shop or person damaged my work and is trying to blame me for itI truly wish she would have talked to me within a reasonable amount of time about the issue instead of having someone else "fix it" and then expect me to refund her when I had no clue there was an issue with my repairOn top of this, she only paid for half of the repair as the dealership she purchased the vehicle from agreed to pay half of the billShe only paid half of the labor which would be and half of the part which was 152.97, which after tax was her partThe dealership that paid the other half of the repair has never called me about this issue, eitherI apologize if my decision was not what the customer would have liked, but I don't believe I was being treated fairly by the customer on this matter.Sincerely, *** ***

I was never given a chance to rectify a "problem", because it wasn't brought to my attention until four months after the initial repair was made by my facilityThere have too many other individuals, shops, dealerships and companies that have worked on the vehicle after my repair facility hasAlso, she did not just come in for a fuel gauge issue; she came in for a speedometer and fuel gauge issue. In my experience, when two or more gauges malfunction on 2003-GM cars and trucks, having the gauge cluster rebuilt has always fixed the problemMy facility has performed repairs on over a dozen of these types of GM clusters and have yet to have a customer come back and say that it wasn't fixed. You don't just have one gauge fixed when it is rebuilt, all gauges receive new parts. When the vehicle left the shop, both problems to my knowledge were resolved. Contrary to what Mrs*** stated, I did run a diagnostic on her vehicle; when I did, there were no codes stored, again pointing towards a worn out gauge cluster, and in my experience gauge clusters do not throw trouble codesMy Facility did the necessary repair that has fixed every other GM vehicle with these issuesI, just like Mrs***, do not believe I have been treated fairly in this issue. If she would have brought the vehicle back to me within a reasonable amount of time, I would have resolved the issue immediately, as I firmly stand behind my work
