In response to *** ***'s letter to the Revdex.com:On 5/20/*** *** brought her *** *** to CDR Motors ports for a charging system complaintShe advised me that she had just purchased the bike from a gentleman in SyracuseThe seller told her it had a new battery but when he
started it, the bike needed to be jumped, according .to***She advised me that the bike was at another dealer (locally) and that it was diagnosed and needed a stator and possibly a rectifier/regulator but the shop wasn't 100% sure it needed the rectifier/regulatorI informed *** that she could bring us the bike, we would diagnose it and give her an estimate to fix it.I diagnosed the bike according t the *** *** Manual and found it only needed a statorI called *** and gave her an estimate of about$to fix the charging system • .I then advised her that I looked over the bike because of the seller being"sketchy'' (***'s words) and found that it badly needed two tires, an oil change and needed to be serviced, which then brought the estimate to $700.00.She was a little upset that the seller sold her a bike with that much work needing to be done, but I advised her that she now owned the bike and that it was to her benefit to get it fixed so that it was safe to ride.I was given a verbal OK to fix itShe brought me a new front tire that she had received from the seller when the bike was purchasedI fixed and rechecked the charging issue and everything was OK, installed two new tires, changed motor oil and filter and serviced the bike, gave it a quick look over and test ride, all of which checked out*** picked up her motorcycle, and was still upset that the seller sold her a bike that needed work, but I told her that she now had a bike that was safe to ride.Approximately six weeks later, *** called and said that the bike is turning over slowly and had a friend look at itThe friend told her that It needed arectifier/regulatorI asked her to bring it down so I could double check itI spent about minutes with *** and her girlfriend (who was giving her a ride home) retesting the charging system according to the *** manual, explaining the tests and readings to *** and her friend. The tests showed that the rectifier/regulator was good but that one of the three legs on the new *** stator was badI called *** to get warranty information.I was told to send it to them for testingI was also told by *** that shipping to them and labor to remove and reinstall stator is not coveredI told *** who then demanded to talk to *** told *** that they would replace the part, but that they do not pay for the labor to remove it and put it back in again. They said that they would submit it to Rick to see if he would approve the labor.*** called CDR Motors ports on 7/12/17, telling me that the stator was defective and that they fixed a wireand that It was being shipped back with a new gasket atno chargeI called *** and told her what *** had told me, which she was not happy aboutI then proceeded to tell her that the shipping and labor needed to be paid, and that our install/diagnosis was not the problemI suggested that she should contact Rick' s and attempt to get compensation from them for the extra Installation workShe then asked me multiple times how I could do this to her, claiming it is bad service and that other people and shops told her it was ridiculous to have to pay againI maintained that the extra work required was not my fault, and that the hours required to reinstall the new part should be paid.At this point, she is very unhappy with me, but our diagnosis and Install was spot onIn her letter to the Revdex.com, she claimed that I was a "young kid" and "did not know what he was doing"I have had, and worked on, bikes my whole lifeI attended the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute, and graduated in the 98th percentile of the classI then worked for one of the best custom/performance shops in Florida for four yearsThis company sent me all over the country and put my bikes on over different covers of motorcycle magazines worldwideI moved back to New York and worked in one of the well-known shops in town for eight years and for the last three years as their head mechanicI left to start my own business because I truly love this industry, have a passion for motorcycles with tons of ideasI want to see everyone riding safe no matter what gender or raceI just see motorcycles that need to be fixed. She also stated that "his disrespect of me I believe it's because I am a women. And taking me for what he can"As stated above, I explained to *** why the extra work I suggested was necessary in order to make her bike safe to ride. That additional work Is what raised the price from the original $to the higher priceAs for disrespecting her because she is a woman, it should be noted that I have a large clientele that are female, and they seem to appreciate the fact that I take the time to explain what is wrong with their bike, and what needs to be done to fix itAs I said above, I want to see everyone riding safe no matter what gender or raceI just see motorcycles that need to be fixed. It is unfortunate that the part from *** was defective, but I have no control over that*** is a well-known organization, and I do not believe that it is a common occurrence to get a defective part from themI also do not believe her claim that other shops would remove and replace a defective part, that was obtained from another company.I spent my time taking the part to the post office, paying for shipping it to ***,and when it was sent back to me, I reinstalled itI called *** to tell her that her bike was now ready to be picked upI told her, on the phone, that we had just had a bad rain storm, and that my internet had gone down, and I could not process a credit card, asking her to bring cash or a checkShe arrived to pick up the bike, and offered me her credit card for paymentI was unable to process the cardI ultimately gave her the bike, and did not charge her for the postage, my time returning the part, or my two hours that it took to reinstall the part.I am very upset that she think?? I am taking advantage of her, not being fair and honest and that I don't know anythingI am disappointed that I am being judged because of a defective part from another company with no regard for the correct diagnosis that I performed and the proper installation that I did twice.I am attaching the work ticket showing that she did not get charged $for a$jobThe $job was an estimate to fix the charging problemThe total bill of $was for the charging fix and a full service with tiresOn a side note, I refunded her $for the air filter plus tax, because the filter is still on back order, she was charged $Also attached is *** Warranty and Sales Order

Hello, I have only received this as a statement back from you....your saying that this matter is closed because I did not get back to you...I do not see a email other then this one from you ....my computer was down a few days as well. And he was not truthful in what he said especially the part about he decided to  let me have the bike at no charge! He fought back and forth with me about it that he was going to get paid for this. The machine did not work and he wanted me to give him a check or cash or I could not take MY bike!! he was holding it hostage. I have 2 witnesses to that fact.. Since that was my only way of payment and even after it was suggested he take my Card info and put it in on Monday when the machine was fixed he would not do it. He was trying to make this as difficult as possible for me for whatever reason. Again...I do feel he was very disrespectful to me as well as the person I brought up there the first time I held my ground an  he did not like that. ....and also a witness to that he wanted to be charging me and that his 2 year old would ask daddy why don't you have a pay check? Really thats good business? I was not all upset about that guy that sold it to me (some of it yes)...but about this disrespect and over charging me.For a business just starting out this is bad customer service all around I had asked at least 12 people about this policy and every one of them said theres NO WAY he should be charging you again. And with this [redacted] motorsports was not good as well it was there defective part and they took no responsibility for it And [redacted] said hes been dealing with them and trusted them so we went with the company HE suggested so all that labor stuff should have been between the two of them. There were a few other things he wrote in his reply that were not correct either but now I have my bike back and I hope that it will work this time....So I just wanted it to be shown that you can't trust people these days and unless you know someone ....or that they have gone to someone and are good....not to go to the new places because they don't have all the bugs worked out yet and don't know how to treat the clients yet. I would NOT recommend going to this place at all.....unless you have lots of money...and time. Thanks, [redacted]
