Cedar Creek Village Apartments

Review: I moved out of this apartment complex on 10/4/14 and was due a refund on my security deposit. The complex told me they mailed my refund to the incorrect address 21 days from my move out date. Though they can not prove the refund was mailed. I have submitted a change of address with the US postal system. I have received all of my forwarding mail, with the exception of my security deposit. I have contacted the manager of the complex on several occasions and was told they can't do anything as it is handled at their "home office". They are unable to provide any contact information to follow up with their "home office". I was told they are unable to place a stop payment on their refund check until it has been 30 days from their issue date. As a young man I am really counting on my refund to continue housing. This situation has been handled very unprofessional by the management at Cedar Creek Village apartments.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of my security deposit ASAP.

Mr. [redacted] failed to provide a forwarding address to management before he moved out. This is after verbal, and written request that he provide this information. In accordance with CCC 1950, Mr [redacted]'s refund and statement of move out charges was mailed to his last known address on October 22, 2014. That address being the apartment that he had recently vacated. Sometime after his refund had been mailed, he called the rental office to provide his forwarding address. However the items in question had already been sent and we had no way to recall, or know their whereabouts. Past experience has shown that in these cases, it may take some time for the documents to be forwarded, or returned to us. Therefore out policy is to wait 30 days from issue before stopping payment and re-issuing the check. We have since stopped payment on the original check (it never cleared the bank) and issued a replacement sent to the address provided by Mr. [redacted]. All of this could have been avoided if Mr. [redacted] had provided the requested information.
