My husband, ***, and I visited this garden to meet family from out of town. We arrived a little bit after they did, so we met them under a gazebo. It was raining for about an hour, so we were unable to start exploring the gardens. The rain started to get worse, and eventually a terrible lightning storm started, and a few (8-10) lightning bolts struck right near us. Finally, a lightning bolt struck within 10 feet of our family, we deemed it unsafe for our own lives to remain at the park. Because of the weather, we were unable to see any of the attractions. We asked for a 'rain check,? but we were turned down. They then offered us half off of a future visit, still with no refund. We are still quite shaken up, and we do not think they handled this situation appropriately.

Refund We paid $12 per person for a total of $24. We would like a refund or a rain check so that we can come back and actually visit the park when the weather is not life-threatening.

We received 2 letters from Revdex.com on Monday Aug.3,one addressed to Raymond Webber requesting our business info. I responded immediately.The other letter was addressed to Don G, our V.P.,which remained unopened until we see him. Upon receiving your phone call today, we opened the 2nd letter revealing the complaint. It was our first notice of the incident.
We are sorry the guests had a negative experience at our Gardens. We will be mailing out a rain check for them in tomorrows mail.It should be noted that I know of no other garden who gives a refund on admittance, and many do not give rain checks,as is our policy.
We hope the guests will have a better experience as the Gardens have a lot to offer and see.

We know of plenty of parks and gardens that give rain checks. Additionally, we believe this particular day was an extraordinary circumstance with the lightning storm. We would have stayed, had we not felt like our lives were in danger. Thank you for your understanding.
