If you want to live, go elsewhere!
on 05/01/2025 My wife was rushed to the hospital with the request of Ems because they thought she was having a stroke. Dr Ayers said it was not a stroke and they wheeled her into the hallway to make room. Dr Ayers said she will be fine in a few hours. She did not get better so I to her to St David ER the next morning (as she was still the same as the day before) and they said she needed to be admitted to the TRAUMA center because she was still having a stroke. St David ER doctor said they could not give her the tPA because too much time has passed and ask me if we took her anywhere when the symptoms started, I said we too her to Cedar Pak ER and they we confused on why they didn't give het the tPA med. I told them Dr Ayers said she was not having a stroke but St David ER said she has classic signs of a stroke! Her PCP is extremely upset with Dr Ayers after reading his report and said we need to hold that hospital responsible for the lack of care and urgence! Now she has life changing issues!

Substandard service
Whom It May Concern,

My name is Dr. Hisham Elzayat, and I am submitting this account to formally report a deeply troubling incident that occurred yesterday afternoon.

After slipping on icy pavement in front of my apartment building, I sustained a concussion and contacted EMS. The paramedics arrived promptly and transported me to Cedar Park Regional Medical Center. Upon arrival, I was placed on a stretcher with a neck brace and left in that position for nearly two hours without any meaningful assessment, monitoring, or intervention. The only action taken during that time was the administration of Tylenol for pain.

Eventually, I was moved to a temporary room, where a physician examined me for approximately 15 seconds before ordering a CT scan to evaluate for head and spinal injuries. No further communication or care followed for the next 45 minutes. When I approached the nursing station to request pain relief, I was ignored and told not to raise my voice—despite the fact that I was speaking calmly and was in significant pain.

When I identified myself as a medical doctor and explained the severity of my symptoms, I was met with indifference. Instead of receiving care, I was confronted by a security officer named Brown, who attempted to intimidate me and discourage me from advocating for myself. At no point was I disruptive or aggressive; I was simply asking for medical attention.

Feeling unsafe, neglected, and disrespected, I made the decision to discharge myself. The staff then presented me with AMA paperwork and treated me as though I posed a danger to others. I was escorted out by the same security officer in a manner that was both humiliating and unprofessional.

I am a cardiac surgeon who has worked in hospitals across four continents, and I have never witnessed treatment as degrading, dismissive, and inhumane as what I experienced yesterday. I am now at home, self‑monitoring and managing my symptoms on my own.

I respectfully request a thorough investigation into this incident. I am deeply concerned that other patients may have been subjected to similar treatment. I cannot rule out the possibility that I was targeted due to ethnic, religious, or other biases, and this possibility warrants serious attention.

Thank you for taking the time to review this matter and for ensuring that no one else is subjected to such unacceptable conduct.

Sincerely,
Dr. Hisham Elzayat

I am rejecting this response because: Charges too high for strip test and flu test . Tests were negative did not need tests.  ED visit of 1044.23 on top of other charges too much. Doctor said nothing wrong go see his regular doctor in the morning.

Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention. As a result of the information provided, Cedar Park Regional Medical Center has reversed the charge for this visit, and the consumer has no balance with the hospital for this account.

The patient came to the Emergency Department on 12/20/2013 and left prior to seeing a physician and having her sutures removed. Because there was no physician encounter and suture removal, this visit was coded as a triage visit, rather than as a visit for suture removal. The charge for this visit has been reversed.

We are sorry the consumer found it difficult to resolve this issue with the hospital. The Call Center routinely refers people who wish to dispute charges to call the hospital directly. Financial conversations regarding patient accounts are logged into the hospital’s financial system. There is no record of this consumer having called the hospital to dispute this charge. Unfortunately, we are unable to determine what the issue may have been with the consumer’s contacting the hospital.

In summary, the charge for this account has been reversed, and the consumer has no balance with the hospital for this account. Please contact me if we may provide any additional information.
