I am responding to [redacted] complaint. She lived at [redacted] in apartment [redacted] and moved out of the apartment June 27, 2016. It was necessary to clean the stove, cupboards, windows, shower etc. We also put batteries in the smoke/CO detector. These are items that the...

tenant is responsible for and she was charged for this. The balance owed on her apartment is $196.48. I understand that Sara has special needs but this does not mean that we do not charge for cleaning or repairs. I did receive an email from [redacted] payee requesting copies of the move-out inspections and those items have been provided to her.

Mr. [redacted] moved out of one of our apartments December 1, 2016. He received his deposit account and made contact with us on December 22 to discuss it. Originally Mr. [redacted] owed an amount of $253.99. During his conversation with a Property Manager in our main office we agreed to deduct the painting...

charges making the amount owed by Mr. [redacted] zero. To which he gladly agreed to he even thanked us for doing so.
We do not owe Mr. [redacted] anything and we are not stealing his money, if anything he owes us for cleaning, damages and his final Modern Electric bill in addition to the painting charge we forgave.

RE: Cedar Chateau Estates apartment #[redacted]As a Property Management company we are required to mail out the Deposit Accounting to a tenant that has moved within a short time span. It is common for changes to be made after final amounts are determined. Normally these are a lower amount for the ex-tenant. This is what was done for apartment #[redacted] where Ms. [redacted] lived. In her comments she states that she feels the amount is better since we made some adjustments but she thinks it should still be lower. What amount is she looking for? The carpet was brand new when they moved in so I don't believe that I am willing to go down on that expense. The Modern Electric bill is their final bill for their usage. I am willing to hear what amount Ms. [redacted] is willing to settle with to see if we can come to a compromise.[redacted]Cedar Property Management

Revdex.com,
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
In the letter I received from cedar property management it says I was charged $166 for a FULL set of blinds. I just received another letter on Friday saying that now I just owe alittle over $1,000 for everything, though that is a much better price, I still think it should be lower as we had to have the maintenance guy ([redacted]) come by only to basically tell us we are stupid and there is no problem with the ceiling in the bathroom 4 times until I finally recorded a video and showed the apartment managers and they told him how bad it was. We had to give our 2 children bathes in the kitchen sink for over 2 months because the bathroom ceiling started falling into the bathtub whenever anyone would walk into the shower upstairs. The mold from the drywall and insulation made my children have frequent colds and constant runny noses, my daughter couldn't even crawl until afew weeks after we moved out because the mold in the old unit made her so weak and sick. That is not an apartment that is livable by any means but we still payed rent and the apartment was cleaner when we moved out than when we moved in, minus the 2 small pink spots in the dining room/living room areas.

seems your company has a long history of writing fake reviews for yourselves.

This company rakes in the paychecks for themselves but they refuse to pay the vendors. Stay far away from them. They are facing a lien on 2 of the properties they manage now. I am sure the owners will die when they find out, exp with one being on the market to be sold. I will get paid.

Review: myself and my wife are being charged 409.00 for services they said needed to be done.we have documents for the things that needed to be done that say they were already there so there should be no reason for us to pay.example we have on our inspection before we moved in saying the counter tops are bad and now we all of a sudden are the ones that made it bad.we have the toilet marked in.we have tub stains and there is lots more that we told the landlord in the beginning that we are being charged for now and I wanna know why if they were already an issue to begin with.I under a few things that are our fault and I have no problem paying for my faults.I can email or fax the documents if needed.Desired Settlement: I will not pay the damages that are noted in this bill and I expect our deposit to pay for the other damages. and if everything cost what they really say I would like to see receipts.

Response:

I am responding to the complaint from [redacted] regarding their apartment at Cedar Springs Estates #**. I have reviewed the file and he is right there are items listed on the moving in inspection. Those items however, are not any of the things being charged to Mr. [redacted] for his moving out. They are being charged for cleaning, broken blind slats, some painting and some extra carpet cleaning for heavy traffic areas in the carpet as well as a door, and drip pans.

Review: I notified Cedar Property Management on March 20th, 2013 that I was moving out of my unit at the end of April(more than 30 days notice). However, I notified them via their website rather than my e-mail. They said they received no notification until April 17 when they retrieved comments from their website and saw my notification. I thought they responded to their website but I guess I was wrong. I should have notified them by other means such as by mail or e-mail. They charged me another months rent of $650 for improper notification. Also, I just received the final settlement on my deposit showing that my $250 deposit was assessed $125 for carpet cleaning(I agree),$31.60 for electrical(I agree), $100 for painting(???). They say I owe them another $66.00. At best I owe them $6.60. I also paid $30 deposit for keys and misc. which I turned in and got no credit for.I thought these people were more honorable but I guess its all about the moneyDesired Settlement: 1. Get my $650 back2. Get their accounting corrected.

Response:

I am responding to the Revdex.com complaint from [redacted]. He claims to have sent his notice to vacate through our website well before the required date. His comment is that his notice sat until we retrieved our comments from our website. It does not work that way, when someone contacts us via the website link the comments are emailed to me immediately. I have done some test on our site and I have been unable to delay these contact comments in anyway. They are received in my inbox within a very short time, there may be a delay in my opening my inbox and retrieving them but I would always take in to account the date on the email as the date the item was sent.

Review: We moved into the cedar chateou estates A in may 2013 and from day one had a horrible ant problem that after several work orders and 13 months they finally fixed, took them 6 days to fix the pipe in the closet and 2 work orders. Then we moved from apt 80 to apt [redacted] in December 2014 and the manager gave me 10 min to find and tell her everything I could that was wrong with the apt before leaving with the paperwork. I called the next day to tell her everything else and she said everything I told her was normal wear and tear. They said the soggy, droopy patch on the ceiling in the shower was just a sagging patch that had condensation from showers. It started dripping later in December and I ordered a work order, they said nothing was wrong. I ordered 4 more over the course of 10 months and then they finally came and fixed the leak but then left an open moldy hole in the ceiling for another month, my newborn had been sick since birth and my son has been sick at least 2x per month since we moved into apt [redacted] and he had never been sick in his 2.5 years of life before moving in. We finally moved out on October 1st 2015 and now got a huge bill of $2,003.88 for one small stain in the dining room and one in the living room. They are charging us for the cracks in the bathroom tiles that the prior manager refused to write on my paperwork. They are charging us also for shampooing the carpet that they also said they replaced, and $166.70 for the blinds in the living room that had been bent before we moved in but prior manager had said was normal wear and tear and refused to write down. This bill is ridiculous! Along with my daughter now having lifelong health issues that might be caused from the mold that I was exposed to while pregnant with her or that she was exposed to during her first 9 months of life. She has been diagnosed with hypotonia, hypermobility, a vtc and now spd...Desired Settlement: They need to fix the mold problem in the walls, actually fix what's on a work order, remove our bill they sent us and pay for my daughter's pain and suffering from her lifelong issues most likely caused from mold exposure in the apt walls.

Case #[redacted] for [redacted]

Review: We have signed our papers on march 29th 2013 and the manager did walk thru and said everything is good and clean and he wrote on the rental agreement that everything is left in same condition as when we first rented the apartment. He said that cedars will contact us withing 14 days about returning our deposit back.We have not heard from them for over a month then called the manager on 5-10 and asked about it the response was we will let cedars property know and they will contact you, we waited almost 2 more weeks and contacted manager again on 5-23 their reply was:main manager is on vacation and the one that picked up does not know anything about our situationSo we called the actual cedars property management on 5-23 and told them we have not received our deposit yet their reply was that they have mailed it out on April 5th and we said we never received it and we have address forwarding with [redacted] so even with mistakes on the address it would have still made it to our house and so they said that the person in charge is on vacation when they will get back they will check on this.We thought that we will receive our deposit refund withing 3 weeks after moved out and we depended on that but it has been almost 2 months and seems like no one is not planing to fix this right away, we don't know how long vacation is going to be of the lady in chargeI Believe that Cedars should try and fix this right away and not give us another "when someone gets back from vacation" resolutionDesired Settlement: We would like our deposit back as soon as possible because everything was in Order and we have copy of the document that manager and us initialed stating that everything was good

Response:

I would like to respond to the complaint from [redacted], it seems that they have not received the deposit refund check that was mailed on April 5, 2013. When he made calls to the Resident Manager to inquire about his check he should have been referred to the corporate office. I apologize that he did not receive this information as it would have sped up the process for him.

Review: I lived at Cedar Canyon Villas from Feb-end of Aug. 2013. I was in apt 91 and when I left on Aug 29th I had cleaned all apartment. I was suppose to get a refund up to $125.00, but only got $27.00 back. Was told it took someone 7 hours to clean a 660 sq ft apt. There is no way that it would take that long to clean something that small. I know I am a housekeeper. I saw pictures that were taken that were sent to me. Still does not explain 7 hours for cleaning. I am NOT happy with this company will never recommend them or rent from them again.I moved out of my apartment due to unwanted attention from female manager [redacted]. Had no complaints about apartment itself, except wish it had full size washer/dryer. [redacted] and I talked a few times. I thought she was nice at first, until she started hitting on me. She kept trying to get me to show up for inspection. I told her I couldn't.Desired Settlement: I would like a higher refund. There is no way it took 7 hours to clean my small apartment. Especially since I already cleaned it. Obviously this probably isn't gonna happen, because it seems they take her word over mine. So I would like documentation on what was cleaned each hour, to prove to me it did indeed take 7 hours to clean it. I did get a list of what was cleaned, but didn't specify time it took to do each task.
