If you just want to drop off and forget about your child for a while, be uninformed of matters material to your child's care and ignored by the professionals, Cedar Springs is the place for you If, on the other hand, you wish to have meaningful involvement in your child's careDO NOT send your child to these folks They do not have time or interest in talking to you, prefer to jump to conclusions about your child without seeking your insight into your child's behavior, will not follow up regarding medications administered, will discourage you from talking to the psychologist or psychiatrist, and advise you to speak only to the very nice nurses and techs, who don't know the answers to your questions and are reluctant (and outright refuse) to page the specialists It is unfortunate as there seems to be some caring folks there and some qualified professionals, but the institution is not set up for parental involvement and ultimately does not practice what I consider to be good medicine
