I am rejecting this response because:
I will cede that my speculation on the original fee $is misplaced after speaking with the City; however, my contention of the $fee is based on malicious business practicesAbusing a city ordinance to charge customers a fee and pump additional dollars into the businessBelow is a link to a star tribune article detailing the civil sanctions that the business faced circa Your response, while short and sweet, does infuriatingly little to address the heart of my claimsFurthermore, how does the Revdex.com justify a favorable rating of a business that has a historical record of poor business practices, in fact so poor that they paid $10,to the city, that also condescendingly responds to many of their forced customers complaints? We can all agree that getting towed is not a pleasant experience; Cedar Towing goes above and beyond to extract as much revenue from that unpleasant and involuntary experience as possible while mistreating customers along the wayTo be perfectly clear, the $fee is what it is, the city sets the rate and there is little to be doneHowever, the city's expectation for the midnight rule is that it would not be intentionally abused to generate pure margin revenuesMaybe the company in their next dismissive response will address that issue, and I can forward it to the city council. Finally, I personally would not have followed through with a complaint at the Revdex.com and the city inspectors office had the company any degree of customer service or candorPerhaps you should consider hiring new staff, that have any semblance of a clue on how to deal with customers effectivelyIncluding the staff that respond to Revdex.com complaints.http://www.startribune.com/cedar-towing-faces-fine-in-settlement/1474...

I am rejecting this response because:The business must have the wrong personMy car was not left for days at allI have only went to see my friend one time which was yesterdayIn fact I have documentation that can prove my car was not on that property this week at all except for last nightMy car was impounded in Blaine on Wednesday and I have my receipts showing I got my car out thursdayso cedar auction is not valid and they're not being truthful at allmy friend didnt sign any paper and wasn't awareI also found out a tow driver and his spouse works together to get people car impoundedHis spouse works for Plymouth townhomesI want to resolve this the best way as possible if I was at fault I would pay the towing fee and accept responsibility for my actionsIn this case I am not at faultAlso I never spoke to anyone and said that I didn't know my car was thereThe sign they're saying is not visible I walked to the next townhome complex and I saw the logo and that is how I looked them upI was in my friends house for nomore than minutesThey claim to not know who towed my car and they don't have anything on the towing slip besides the day it got towed

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2016/03/02) */
Cedar Towing Impounded Ms***s, vehicle from Downtown MinneapolisDuring the tow Ms***s vehicle came loose from the wheel lift of our truck causing damage to her vehicle
Cedar Towing has stated to Ms *** from the very beginning
that we would pay to repair her vehicleMs*** and her father requested our insurance information claiming that damage was caused by our truck crashing into her vehicleThe damage was caused during transport of her vehicle
Cedar Towing told her several times to bring it to MAACO in Richfield and they would repair itInstead they went to different shops for estimates (none of them MAACO ) with estimates ranging from $to $
Ms *** & her father are demanding a full refund on the Impound fee
The Impound fee is a totally separate issue, and has nothing to do with the damage claim
Ms *** did show up at our facility to recover her vehicle at around 4:00AM on the date of towShe was so intoxicated she fell in the door yelling about white people owning the company and something about her cousinWe did not tell her about the damage because there was no way she was driving and that she was so intoxicated we did not want to escalate the situation at that pointWe did walk her out to her car then next day to show her the damageShe became so enraged the police were called, they told her it's a civil matter
Her father called the next day making threatsSaying "I own a tow truck, give my daughter her money back" being extremely condescending and rudeOur Manager gave him our old Insurance info by mistakeThat enraged himAt this point Cedar's ownership took over all communication with them, She gave them the number of our broker so they could call and see we have insuranceMs *** & her father would not even tell our broker what kind of car or anythingJust yelling at her, which I have no idea why they would take it out on herSomeone called saying they were from the fraud department of Insurance which it was someone they knowWe told them we would fix this matter ASAP but they just wanted to argueI got three estimates Friday they had a check on Monday and a signed statement from Ms *** that this matter has been paid in full and agreeing this will resolve this matter

Our impound & storage fees on vehicles towed from Minneapolis, are regulated by the city of MinneapolisThe rate is set by the cityIf the customer feels he was over charged, or that we are charging to much for the impound or storage feesI suggest he file a complaint with the Minneapolis
city inspectors, who would be more than happy to address the issue

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/03/10) */
The parking lot is properly postedAll residents of the complex are informed of the parking regulations
The individual has already paid for her vehicleShe did so on the same date as the tow
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7,
2016/03/10) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The parking lot is not properly postedThere is nothing in writing anywhere -- nowhere on the premises or even in my leasing agreement -- that says I needed a permit to park in the spot I parked in
I paid for my vehicle to avoid extra storage chargesNow I need a refund for the original charge of $it was completely illegitimate and entirely unacceptable
Final Business Response /* (4000, 11, 2016/03/22) */
Cedar Towing maintains that the lot is posted and that tow was proper

Hello, I put a picture of the Kia parked way over the linePlease email me back with and questions

We operate under the regulations of the City of Minneapolis. The rules for storage fees are set forth in Mpls City Ordinance which reads in part "no storage charges shall accrue until after 12:a.mof the date following completion of the Class A towing service."The individuals vehicle arrived at our facility on June 12th, the individual recovered their vehicle on the 13th.If the consumer feels we charged them incorrectly on the storage fee, or any other charges, I again refer them to the Minneapolis City Licensing inspector, who would be more than happy to cite or fine us for any infraction

I am rejecting this response because: the car was not towed at 11:It was towed at 10:because I worked until 11pm and it was towed before I clocked out at 10:

Does the attachments help?

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed
the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this isn't a resolution to the problemMy boyfriend is the one that actually picked up my car and also spoke to the lady at the tow company and she is the one that basically told him they did no wrong and were not refunding the money and claimed they now had a sign up at the entrance of the apt complexIf in fact the sign is there thats fantastic at least no one else will get their car taken by a tow company without warning or info as tobwhere their car may beThe signs should have been posted prior to them taking anyones vehicle from there*** *** is the person who picked up my car and is well aware of my msgs to the Revdex.com and he suggested I do this so hopefully something is done about what they did to me and many other people that same evening for sure

To who this may concern, This car was towed at 11:PM the start time to tow is 10:PMThis vehicle was towed due to no permit This person is the care taker and knows the rules, as well I spoke to the manager on sight. Thank youTamara ***###-###-####

Good Afternoon, I would need the info of the vehicle to be able to find the situation out We looked up the name but someone else must have picked up the vehicle We towed a lot of vehicle from west St.Paul that day.Thank youTamara ***

The consumers vehicle was towed from [redacted]  which is a lot for a commercial building called University Park Plaza. It was towed at the properties request. This is not an apartments parking lot. The lot is clearly mark University Park Plaza parking only. The name of the apartments next...

door is Metro Park East perhaps her daughter lives there. The vehicle arrived on the evening of July 13th. Per Minneapolis City Ord 349 the price to recover her vehicle was $233 + tax. Also per City Ord the price increased at Midnight that night. under Minneapolis city ordinances the consumer was charged a total of $283.11Cedar Towing has a contract with a city agency called Minneapolis Public House. This is housing for low income individuals. Under contract anyone towed from a Public Housing property is charged a different fee.

I am rejecting this response because:
This lot is marked in a misleading way as I stated before.  This lot is attached to the apartment complex I was visiting.  It is not clear to someone not from this area that this is not parking for this apartment complex.  I was led to believe that it is parking for the apartment complex by the way the sign is worded and by the way the lot is attached to the apartment building.  This company also scratched my bumper and they owe me repair damages for this.  I do not accept their response of not being willing to do anything.  I also do not accept that they are allowed to charge me nearly 3 times more than another person they towed from Minneapolis.  This is discriminatory against me.

The parking lot which the consumer was parked in has a 2 foot by 3 foot sign that says at the top in 2 inch letters University Park Plaza. Her daughters complex's name is Metro Park EastThe lot is only "attached" to property because it is next door. There is not one single door which enters or exits from the building to the parking lot.If the consumer is concerned that she was over charged, I suggest she speak with the Mpls City Licensing Inspector.I am unaware of any damage claim made by the consumer to Cedar Towing

This is what the person said one the phone to me not the facts.  The security over there do not know if your there 10 min or tow hoursthe friend you were visiting should have told you not to park there they know the rules NO ONE SHOULD PARK there but tenants per the signs at all entrance of the lot not 10 mins or ever!

She left the car there for days with her sister when she was out of town she told me and that is a permit only parking lot in the picture you can see there is no permit in the back window.  They do have security out there.  They call us to have the vehicles towed that do not have permits....

There are signs up saying this and the sister signed a paper knowing that they need permits in that lot. She will have to pay to get the car out and storage does go up every night at 12:00. I talked with the owner of the vehicle today she know what she need to pick it up and when I talked to her she was not even sure if her car was here???
