Celina's International Supermarket

Review: On Thursday May 15, 2014 I went to Celina's International supermarket located on [redacted] Williams Blvd, [redacted]. I purchased a 'tres leche' cake from the supermarket. When I arrived home and proceeded to eat the cake, I took one bite and looked down at the cake only to discover it being covered in MOLD. At first glance the mold wasn't noticeable because the cake is covered in a layer of whip cream. I immediately returned to the store (which couldn't of been more than 15 minutes since purchasing said cake). I showed the cashier who looked mortified and agreed to give me my money back. Upon noticing I paid with my debt card she said she didn't know how to put it back on my card and she said she couldn't give me cash. She also stated the owner also didn't know how to perform the refund on the register and simply stared at me waiting to see what I wanted to do. I then asked for the owner who came to the front of the store to speak to me. She was immediately rude and told me there was nothing she could do for me. She claimed she had a "no refund policy" even though the cashier had already told me she would gladly give me a refund if she knew how to do it in the system. The owner told me it didn't matter that she sold me a moldy cake and there was nothing she could do for me. She offered me something else (of equal value) but how could I possibly want ANYthing from a store that just sold me a moldy cake? She was extremely rude, unapologetic and unsympathetic about HER store's mistake. She didn't take ownership or responsibility for the mistake. She only cared about keeping MY money for this moldy cake. Her awful product, horrible attitude and greediness is more than enough for me to never return to this store. I still never received my money back nor did I pick anything else out of this disgusting, unsanitary store.Desired Settlement: Though this cake was only $4.50 (4.84 after tax), the fact that she refused to refund my money after selling me a moldy cake seems absurd. I believe I deserve my money back AND this store needs to be thoroughly inspected by the local health department.
