Saturday, April 05, [redacted] Cell Phone Repair Pros Magnolia St Westminster, CA [redacted] Complaint ID: [redacted] Dear [redacted] ***: Mr [redacted] ’s phones were received on February 07, Their information was entered into our computer system and an email was sent, with our work order # [redacted] attached, to Mr [redacted] to confirm contact information and scope of work Mr [redacted] had requested a very specific service performed to his two HTC Thunderbolt phones known as “rooting.” This involves changing the native software on a phone to allow installation of a “Custom ROM.” It is an involved process that is quite difficult to perform In addition, the task was made more difficult by the age and computing power of the phones Mr [redacted] provided as well as the inherent instability of the specific “Custom ROM” requested After numerous attempts, we were unsuccessful at performing the service Mr [redacted] ’s phones have been returned to him at no charge At no time was Mr [redacted] requested to pay for the service We were in contact with Mr [redacted] numerous times while we were in possession of his phones, both through email and over the phone During these conversations, Mr [redacted] was very understanding of the difficulty in providing the service requested and at no time did he ask for his phone to be returned Mr [redacted] agreed to a number of continuances as we attempted to successfully provide the service We now consider the matter closed and have offered are sincerest apologies to Mr [redacted] for being unable to provide the service and for the delay in the process Sincerely, [redacted] ***

Review: I SENT 2 HTC THUNDERBOLT CELL PHONES FOR REPAIRS. I RECEIVED AN ESTIMATE OF $120.00 FOR THE TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS. I SENT THE PHONES IN AND RECEIVED AN EMAIL THAT THEY RECEIVED THE PHONES ON Saturday, February 1, 2014 12:50 PM. THE ESTIMATE WAS SENT ON AN EMAIL Ordered: 2/7/2014 5:38:27 PM. THE WORK ORDER NO. IS Work Order #1 [redacted]. SO, FROM FEBRUARY 1, 2014 TO MARCH 7, 2014 I WAITED. I HEARD NOTHING. NO EMAIL. I EMAILED THEM AND THEY HAVE NOT RESPONDED TO 2 EMAILS. I ASKED THEM THE ABOUT THE CURRENT STATUS OF MY REPAIR ORDER, FINISHED, STARTED, HALF WAY ECT. I CALLED MANY TIMES, AND GOT THE RUN AROUND. THEY ARE IGNORING ME. THEY HAVE HAD THE 2 PHONES FOR OVER 1 MONTH, AND ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRST EMAIL FROM THEM IT STATED.. " 180 Day Warranty (Most Repair)Same Day Service (Most Repair)" I AM WILLING TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR COST OF $120, BUT IF NOT REPAIRED YET, I WOULD JUST LIKE THEM TO RETURN MY PHONES AS IS. THEY WILL NOT RESPOND TO MY INQUIRIES.
