Cello's Cement Reviews (1)

Review: Multiple Complaints: 1) Contract executed for garage apron and step work. Contractor demolished sidewalks and curbs in addition to garage apron and steps without authorization and in the absence of a quote for services (which had been requested) and signed contract forcing me ("coerced"), the customer, to enter a 2nd contract and pay an additional $1,800.00 more for services that would not have been performed. The contractor admitted to "jumping the gun." As the homeowner, I am responsible for sidewalks and curbs in the Boro in which I reside; 2) Contractor abandoned the job by failing to restore the property to original condition which has resulted in $4,000.00 worth of property damage that must be remedied and is also a safety risk/liability to pedestrians and vehicles. (Contractor had to remove bricks from our street in order to pour the concrete sidewalk and curbs (that he inadvertently removed). Rather than restore bricks, contractor left holes where bricks were and/or some holes are filled with overflow concrete from the curb pour. There are 8" deep X 3 feet long sections where bricks were removed that is a safety hazard. Repair costs were quoted at $4,000. Contractor refused to restore bricks to original disposition citing "he was already belly-up in the job and was not coming back." I have pictures that can be sent if requested.)3) Poor craftsmanship - Concrete work performed is cracking after only 3 weeks of being poured; End of sidewalk has a brick and board imprint; Rough edges that are also a safety risk.Desired Settlement: I would like 1) Job finished by restoring bricks to original disposition 2)Cello's Cement to incur costs; 3) Fix cracking areas of concrete (it has only been 3 weeks) and other faulty craftsmanship as indicated above 4) Reimbursement for the additional $1,800 cost of sidewalk and curb concrete services that I would not have spent if contractor had not removed the sidewalks and curbs without initial authorization which forced me to enter into a 2nd and unintended contract.
