As we wrote prior this is a job performed in 2011 and now the complaint is issued in 2015 ! the contract clearly shows the warrenty time

I never heard from the company after someone came to look at the hairline cracks that appeared within a month or two. Where is the signed waterproofing you are talking about? Surely you have a customer sign a waiver if they decline any other maintenance offered.
Regards,
[redacted]

I did indeed call twice and leave two messages. No one ever called me back nor did they schedule an annual maintenance which they say is required. I have attached a photo of the poor job that continues to deteriorate.
Regards,
[redacted]

This customer was contacted to do a yearly inspection on 2 different dates early 2012 ,When she was told that there would be a charge for a waterproof to prevent erosion of the said repair the customer declined ! this work was completed in a workmanship manner ..most customers that do complain decline the yearly preventative maintenance to be performed .on thye bottom of each work order this is clearly written and explained to each customer as well..

This is 2015 we have never received a phone call from this customer ! on the bottom of the invoice it reads yearly maintenance is required ..we call all our customers to schedule a waterproff to keep the concrete sound..we are closing this customer complaint ! thank you

This company overlaid my cement porches in 2013. The cracks were back and waterproofing was non-existent by the following year. When I called to get them repaired, [redacted] and they will extend my 2 year (not 5 or 10 as advertised). Called in 2015 and got the same answer about the owner [redacted] and when I expressed my concern about the warranty running out, Jeff made me feel bad that I had no concern for Joe. Called again this year (2016) and told Jeff the cracks are getting bigger and was told to get someone else BC [redacted]. I asked why they were still advertising and he said they can do other work. So I still waiting for warranty work 3 years later.

Review: In June 2011, I contracted for the Cement Doctors to replace a portion of my driveway. They cut out areas by the garage, removed old concrete, tied in existing slab with rebar and poured new concrete. Within a couple of months, hairline cracks appeared in the repaired area. I called for someone to come and look at it but was reassured that this was natural and wouldn't develop any further but promised to return within a year to make sure. No one showed up for any reinspections and within 2 years, the entire new slab was cracking and crumbling. I called three time, leaving messages but never got a return call, nor did anyone come to see what the problem was. I just wanted it repaired but never heard from this company and the whole slab is now crumbling mess.Desired Settlement: I want them to take out the entire slab that they installed and replace the concrete and warranty it.

Review: The quality of the workmanship is extremely lacking. The work was done in haste the resulting product and esthetic is sloppy and haphazard, not to mention that - the porch was left with more cracks than it had before they started. I question the reliability and quality of the products they used as well due to the previously stated reasons. In several calls to the office, I was told they would come back to fix the problem. When we agreed on a set date of (5/16/13) for them to come, they did not show up, nor call to reschedule. I have called and left a few messages to see why they did not come, I have not gotten any response. I am concerned that they are not intending to resolve this problem as they have ignored my requests for a call back. And would like them to not renege on what they promised in the estimate and work invoice.Thank you.Desired Settlement: Would simply require that the workmanship and job be done properly and to my satisfaction as stated in the signed work estimate and job description.Thank you.

Response:

Thank you for your time and assistance. I am [redacted] daughter, and want you to know that my father is 88 years old and is far past days of being "combative" or any other adjective relating to violence, as the man from Cement Doc tors said. In his response I noticed that the rep for the cement doctors, did not even say his name. My father nearly asked, after noticing some probLems after the workmen left, and That they come back and fix it to his satisfaction to reflect what was supposed to be done. He paid them over $4000.00 for this repair. I wonder as his daughter, if all senior citizens are spending their only savings, and getting this treatment?

Cement Doctors, never told my father, that they were there the day they took pictures, so that he could show them the problem, or talk to the guy. They mearly avoided, not letting him know they were there, and then never called to relate to him they were there and took pictures. Then they decided that they did a good job, and never called my dad. Heck any company can say " well, we did a good job", whether they did or didn't, it wouldn't matter if that is their attitude. Coming to an agreement on the problems would be a better option, I would think, for a company to uphold a reputable business and have good customer referrals.

I will take pictures and send them, tomorrow, as my father does not have Internet or camera.

Thank you,

Regards,

responding to the daughter also ! We do and never take advantage of any customer no matter age we service Residents - and commercial contracts and have a very good record with the Revdex.com as well..We have talked with [redacted] on several occasions and to no avail ! Our services were provided in a workmanship like manner plus as I can mention again we had done a walk thru with [redacted] and he signed a work satisfaction form prior to payment as we do to all our customers. Our company services over 200 customers a year we do go the extra mile for all so with this we feel our services were completed as we had contracted with [redacted]. again we ask this case be closed with the Revdex.com

Thanks in advance

Review: I hired Cement Doctors on August 31, 2013 for a garage overlay. I gave a deposit of $600.00 and scheduled the job for October 11, 2013. The job was completed on October 11, 2013 and I paid the remaining balance of $3,180.00 at completion of job. I contacted the company within days of the job and have left voice messages requesting the crew to come back out. I texted pictures of the garage floor. The garage floor is peeling, has scrapes, chips, scratches. I sent an email to Cement Doctors on May 25, 2014 requesting a call back to come out and repair the floor. I did receive a call back on May 27th and was told that the company is on hold and that no one is working now.Desired Settlement: I would either like a refund or resurfaced.

Review: I hired this firm in 2012 to repair & re-coat the cement around my pool area. Within a week of the job being finished the coating began to peel and now a large area of the cement in the pool area has peeled and looks bad. I called right away in 2012 to advise this company of the problem. I was assured that the product they used was defective and the entire pool area was to be re-done. Justin even came out twice like he was going to start work but he always left after making some excuse. They have gone into hiding now and are not returning my calls.Desired Settlement: Cash refund due to faulty workmanship and defective materials.

Review: Failure to satisfactorily complete terms of original proposal and to perform work to standard practices.Desired Settlement: Would like refund of money that was paid for work and/or repairs done that meet the original terms of the proposal.

We serviced this customer last year for an overlay of a patio. The customer signed a customer walk thru of satisfaction and now he wants the entire job to be torn down and redone. Also he is wanting a refund at this point because he says the work in not to his satisfaction. This house is very old and we done the best that could be done with what we had to work with. We will not refund any money and at this time we will close this case.

Thanks

Response:

Mr. [redacted],

Thank you for taking a few minutes to talk with me this morning regarding my complaint against the Cement Doctors, LLC. Here is my response to his message.

To address each of his points:

1. Sign off at the time of customer walk through.

When the job was completed, there was variation in the staining/painting of the garage walls and the patio surface. The individual on-site that supervised the work agreed that the stain/paint job was uneven. The stain/paint job was fresh and he assured me that when the stain/paint dried it would be even and that there would be no variation in color. This did not happen. The stain/paint work was/is not satisfactory. After a period of time the supervisor came out and inspected the paint/seal job. He agreed the work was not acceptable and needed to be redo.

2. The second thing that I asked to be done was to seal cracks in the patio surface so they would not leak. When the job was completed the cracks were freshly covered. There was no way of telling how well the cracks were sealed at the time of completion. Within a week the cracks were leaking and water found its way into the garage below. I called the supervisor. He came out and inspected the leaks and confirmed that the patio surface was not sealed satisfactorily and Cement Doctors would fix this problem.

2. The job needs to be torn down and redone.

When it became apparent that Cement Doctors did not execute the job satisfactorily, I wanted the work fixed in an acceptable manner. The supervisor confirmed the job was not done satisfactorily and the work needed to be redone and that they would fix the problems -- paint/stain job and the sealing of the cracks. Cement Doctors, of their own choice, have agreed to redo the work. I want the paint/stain work redone and I want the cracks resealed. That's what I paid for.

3. The age of the house is very old.

This is an irrelevant issue. The patio and garage are recent additions made to house and property. They are attached to the house, but are not part of the original house.

4. Request for refund.

I requested refund for the work, since I did not get what I paid for. Cement Doctors did not provide workmanship commensurate with what they wanted to be paid for the work. They did not live up to the original terms of our agreement. I want the paint/stain work redone and I want the cracks resealed. If Cement Doctors cannot do this, I want my money back.

Mr. [redacted]:

For the record, I would like to provide an update to my complaint against Cement Doctors, LLC.

As stated in my last response to the Cement Doctors, I was scheduled to have repairs done on 12 August. On Friday, 9 August, Cement Doctors called to

inform me that they needed to reschedule the repair work. I spoke with the supervisor that directed the work that was unsatisfactorily done last October. This is the same supervisor who inspected the work and told me that the work performed was not acceptable and the patio and stain jobs had to be redone.

The reason given for putting me off is that they are behind schedule on their work and that I had to be bumped. When the supervisor called on Friday, he said he is unable to give a new date to get the repairs done and that he would be in touch.

Per their original intent to get the repair work done, Cement Doctors were going to take care of things in a March-April time frame. Here we are in mid-August, they have not attempted to do the repairs and they are unable give me a date when they will get to me. This is a four-month delay. I find it hard to believe that a business, in a four-month period, could not find time to take care of a dissatisfied customer. And, they are not making any attempt to take care of me.

Customer service is not a high priority with Cement Doctors, LLC.

Response:

I would like to update the status of my complaint against the Cement

The Cement Doctors scheduled repairs for Thursday, 5 September. The repairs were to be a one-day affair. As it turned out, the repairs required a second day to complete. They returned on Saturday, 7 September, to do additional work.

Repairs were done to the garage walls and the patio surface. They restained the three sides of the garage and they attempted to restain the patio surface and to repair the cracks in the patio surface. The garage walls look better when a second coat of stain was applied. However, the work on the patio surface turned out to be less than satisfactory. They scored the cracks and packed them with cement. The foreman assured me that scoring and packing the cracks would fix the leaking problem. Not the case. It rained last night and the cracks did not hold up as he said they would. The cracks still leak.

I now have scores in several places on the patio surface that are very rough and do not blend in with other areas of the patio. It looks like a very poorly executed patch job. I did not hire these people to give me a patch job. Originally, the job foreman was going to redo the patio surface. This would have been right way to correct the patio surface problems. Additionally, the stain on the patio was applied on a very hot day and the stain bubbled and blistered. This has produced an uneven, pock-marked look to sections of the surface and the new stain application has lifted where the bubbling and blistering appeared. It is a real mess.

I spoke to the owner of the company on Monday, 9 September. I explained to him what was done on the patio surface. He was familiar with the bubbling and blistering condition and he knew how to correct the problem and offered corrective measures. However, he said he wasn’t going to do anything.

At the end of the conversation, the business owner said was not going to do anything and he refused to come out and look at the repair job. The attempt at fixing the problems has created a new set of problems and, quite frankly, the patio surface looks worse than it looked before.

This company has no commitment to customer service; they have no pride in workmanship; and, they feel no obligation to correct their mistakes.

At the end of the conversation, he said he would call me.
