Review: I went to see Dr. [redacted] to treat some brown spots on my skin. He diagnosed them as melasma and suggested a Melanage mini peeling to treat them. Sounding very confident, he said that the complete results are achieved from 1 to 3 sessions, but in my case, since it was not severe, would need 1 or 2. I spent U$130 in products purchased from his office that were required to prepare the skin for the mini peeling. In addition, the cost of each session of mini peeling is U$300 each. At the day of the procedure I found out that the mini peeling would be performed by his medical assistant (he was not in the office that day) and I was supposed to follow-up with him in a few weeks. After the 1st week, my skin did not peel at all as the medical assistant had explained to me. Therefore, I called her to ask if it was normal and she recommended me to see the doctor the following week since it was not typical.At the follow up, Dr. [redacted] compared my skin with the pictures taken before the treatment. He admitted that the results were not noticeable. He shared with me for the first time that there is no cure for melasma . Dr [redacted] sounded very positive about the results at the first consultation and never mentioned that before. Had I known that, I would have been able to make a more educated decision of whether or not spend over U$700 on a tentative treatment.He saw my disappointment and proposed something that in my opinion is immoral. I would do a 2nd peeling "free of charge" and if any results were noted, I would have to pay for it. I refused since I have already paid for one that did not work. I counter offered to do it either really free of charge or to refund my money. He told me that the products in the peeling was still working and took some pictures to compare with my skin in a future visit. Then, he would make a decision according to the results.In the next visit, he even did not look at my skin. He brought the pictures taken before the peeling and 2 weeks after (I was wearing sunscreen that whitens the face and I still did not notice much change). Dr. [redacted] claimed that improvements were very visible. I guess he changed his mind about the results.In order to show my good faith, I suggested him to donate to a charity the money I wasted with him. He said he would consider. I am looking forward for his response.

Desired Settlement: I want him to refund the money I spent donating to a charity organization like Operation Hope. In case he choses to make the donation, please, send a receipt. Since I feel like I wasted my money, knowing it was for a good cause would make me feel better.
