*** ** *** I have reviewed the complaint submitted by Ms***, and have had the opportunity to contact the City of Buffalo Permit Office regarding their permit application, and have found that a formal permit application has never been filed for the addition to this property and the Construction Documents have therefore never been ‘rejected’ by the City of BuffaloGenerally the process for obtaining a building permit is that once plans are filed in the permit office they are reviewed by a Code Review Specialist, if the Code Review Specialist has any questions or requires additional information they will contact our office directly by email or letter, we would then respond to them in writing with any updates or clarifications that they would require so our client can obtain a building permitSince this process was never started, we have never received any such request from the city, and the plans have never been rejected by the city’s permit department With regards to the process of design for this project we initially met with the *** and prepared initial schematic design drawings, upon completion of this process and to complete construction documents we made an initial inquiry with the city and determined that the design we had created would not be acceptable with the city since the house was located within feet of the property line, and could not have windows, by code, where we had originally placed them. After finding this out, we redesigned the project addition with the *** so that it would conform to that code requirementOnce the *** reviewed and approved the new design we then completed the construction documents. To the best of my knowledge, and verified by the City of Buffalo Permit Office, these plans have never been submitted for a building permitIn conclusion, the *** did receive the service they paid for, and should they choose to file for their building permit with the City of Buffalo, we will happily follow through with the city to ensure their permit gets successfully approvedTell us why here
