Review: I purchased a 2005 [redacted] Navigator from Central Auto Exchange in [redacted], CT on September 4, 2015. In the contract Will, the owner, wrote that he will fix the running board on the passanger side once the parts came in. After picking up a week later I was given a car that hadn't had a tune up, detail job or had any oil in it. I contacted the dealership and they told me they had done an oil change, I told them there was no new sticker in the window indicating so and that the filter was filthy and not a drop of oil in the car. They responded with get an oil change and send us a bill and we will pay for it also bring it back and we will clean the car, mind you I live an hour and half away in [redacted]. A week later my cars check engine light comes on and it starts stalling and barely making it up any hills, sputering and shaking. I call the dealership they tell me to bring the car back to them for repair, I told them I was not driving a car that could barely make it an hour and half to them when this was not my problem I had only had the car 2 weeks. It took a week later for them to arrange somone to drop me off a loaner car and pick mine up. My husband took the day off from work to wait at home for them, I was told the driver would be leaving CT at 11:30 am, by 2:30pm I called and they said give me your husbands phone number and the driver will call when he is half hour away so I asked if they driver had even left yet....no response. Then they text me to say they will arrainge for a rental car for me and will come at a later date to pick up my car. [redacted] rent a car calls me and asks me for my credit card number I decline I am not paying for this. I text the dealership and they said they will have someone out there that night as I am getting really upset at this point. I call my mechanic explain the issue, they ask if the engine light is solid or flashing I tell them flashing and they tell me it can not be driven at all with a check engine light on as it could destroy the engine. I relay the message to the dealership and they ignore me and continue to say they are sending somone out to drive it back to CT. I told them they were not going to take my car and drive it that far with a check engine light flashing it would have to be towed which they would not do. The next day I bring it to my mechanic and it requires $730 worth of work, needed two coil packs and 8 spark plugs plus a completel oil change and filter, all could have been found if they had looked under the hood before the sold me the car. After a complete day of arguing with the dealership they pay the repair. Two days later I am driving with 4 children in the car and the running board they were going to repair falls almost completely off causing me to swerve and slam on my breaks nearly casuing a horrific crash. The running board had been wired up with what looks like coat hangers. I have pictures of what they did to keep it in place temporarily, They had no regard for the safelty of their customer by selling them a car in such a state it is completely intentinal neglect! I told them I wanted them to pay for the repairs and they out right refuse unless I bring the car to them for repair and I will not have them touch my car as they are liars and cheats. My children and I could have been killed and I have not heard so much as an apology. They should be put out of business for their practices.Desired Settlement: I would like them to send me a refund for what it is going to cost me to repair the running board as it is a mechanic running board and extremely costly. I do not feel they should do the repair as if you saw the pictures of what they did they cannot be trusted. Also they never had a buyers agreement in the window of the car which is not in compliance with the Federal Trade Agreement.
