On September 21, 2015 [redacted] and [redacted], came into the office requesting insurance on two vehicles. A 2009 Dodge Journey and a 2005 Cobalt. After I explained all the available coverages, premiums and fees, [redacted] purchased liability limit (15/30/5) and comprehensive and...
collision (1,000 deductibles) for both vehicles. During the application process [redacted] stated she was married. Accordingly, I listed them as married on the application and her spouse, [redacted] as a rated driver on the application. Insured paid a total of $348.00 were she paid $150 credit card and a balance in the amount of $198.00 was paid on 9/25/16 from [redacted] Credit Card, because they didn’t have all the money at that time. Insured read and signed all documents. In conclusion of the transaction, [redacted] was provided with proof of insurance and all the insurance transaction documents. Western General has rescinded the policy since the effective date because insured made false and/or misleading statements in the application for insurance and concealed facts that materially affect the acceptance and/or rating at the risk. Western General refunded all premiums to insured and they will not be making any payments for the claim on 8-24-16 as the policy has been deemed null and void. Includes the following: Application and notice of rescission from Western General.
I am rejecting this response because:
The agent had asked me if [redacted] and I we're married at the time and I told then we were not. when I went to sign the papers the lady wouldn't let me read the information on the papers and just briefly explained what was on each page and pointed to where I needed to sign. When I contacted the business again asking them about why my insurance says I am married, they responded to me saying I should have not said that I was single and to call them back and tell them that I am married or say I have kids but western general said they will have to have proof of a marriage certificate.I have also contacted the insurance commissioner about the business and I was informed that I was not the only one to have the same situation happen to me. this business has done this to multiple people.
