Central Boiler

I have a central boiler classic edge CE 750 ser# 701029 . Worked great for a couple months , then was slow to heat the glycol, got steadily worse , called central boiler help , and they suggested the heat exchanger was plugged up . Normally cleaning this would be simple right ? It was anything but , you have to crawl inside the firebox and remove steel panels to access the heat exchanger, it was plugged up with hardened creosote , much like weld slag , had to chisel it off with a hammer, and pry bars , it’s very tight and claustrophobic , creosote dust gets everywhere including my lungs , no mask can keep it out , as it’s so tight confines , it’s in your face , eyes, lungs , hours upon hours , finally on the second day , it was clean . Also cleaned the primary elbow and any other parts I could find . Worked great . Less than two months later same thing .tried additives to reduce the creosote build up . Checked the moisture content of my wood was 22% . Nothing helped . Called central boiler , guy was defensive and sarcastic. No interest in helping. After the fourth time cleaning it , I realized this defect is designed right into it . As the following year the same model came with a outer access door for cleaning the heat exchanger. This is the point , cleaning it would not be a big deal , if you didn’t have to get inside the firebox. Called to see if they had a buy back or trade up to the new updated model . Nothing . No customer service. This was the biggest and top of the line unit , very expensive . Local dealer , while a nice guy , was not in a position to buy it back . With the plumbing and hard-costs, labor etc..$30K
As I post this review , I can see it sitting on my lawn . Dormant for three years . Upgraded my other heating sources to replace the outdoor furnace as our primary heat source . Disappointed doesn’t begin to describe how I feel .
