Review: My husband went to Community Medical Center for a workman's comp injury on a Sunday. The portion of the bill that was for the doctor was through this group. For some reason they never got the full insurance information and billed us directly. The treatment was 9/29/13. The workmans comp claims examiner and 1 have been trying to reach the billing ever since the first bill was received. Not only does no one come to the phone after 10 minutes you are referred to a voice mail system to leave a message and never get a call back. They have an email address on the bill and when you use it, it comes back undelivered. I finally reach a Floir at the service today. She read the file and it is noted that it is workmans comp and his employer name. Unfortunately the billing information was for his medical insurance not workmans comp ins. I was informed if they bill the insurance even when it is the incorrect insurance and it is not paid they presume there is no insurance and bill the client. They were fully aware that the insurance information was wrong. They will never call the hospital or the client to get the information! When I told them they are impossible to get a hold of there was no apology, nothing just we receive a high volume of calls. After at least 20 times of trying to reach them I finally got through. We all know the next step is collections or just pay the bill. This sounds like malicious billing standards to me. I have no idea what state department to report these people to but they need reported.Desired Settlement: A formal complaint filed with the State of California for malicious billing practices.
