They practice unfair and deceitful billing/collections tactics and treated me like I was a criminal. Rudest customer service I've encountered.I was called to pre-register. The woman didn't properly identify herself & when I questioned her before giving out personal information over the phone to someone from an 800 number, she got an attitude with me. I asked how much my visit ([redacted] to diagnose [redacted] as recommended by my doctor.) She told me "nothing, your insurance will cover it." So I went to the appointment, no money was collected as she said. Hindsight's 20/20. I am 27, just got my own insurance last year, and have never had to have anything done that required anything other than a copay. So when I asked how much the visit would cost and was told nothing and that my insurance would cover it (she had all of my insurance information in front of her,) I was not aware that I would be billed by the hospital and the radiologist over $500 since I hadn't met my deductible. 1st off, the lady should've either told me to contact my insurance company if she didn't know, or she should have mentioned that if I had not met my deductible that I would be billed after the fact. I'm a full time college student who can't find a job and I would have postponed this appointment if I knew it was going to cost that much! But because I didn't have the information before hand, I feel like I was completely mislead. Then when I called the company's billing department to try to arrange a payment plan (even though I felt I was deceived, I still want to pay my bill unlike SO many others who just don't pay it) and I was treated like a criminal by one of the rudest customer service reps I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with, a woman named [redacted]. She wouldn't give me her last name or an ID #E or and when I asked to be transferred to her manager she hung up on me! She asked if I "had even tried to get a job since I had the summer off" which is firstly none of her business but I informed her that I in fact did not have the summer off, I took 4 classes which still made me a full time student AND I've been looking for a job since I lost mine! I told her I could pay $10/month for now until I got a job and she said okay and that I needed to pay whatever I could. Because I'd already been deceived by this company, I decided to ask a specific question that I felt shouldn't have even needed to be asked, but I asked her if, since I had called and shown a willingness to pay, if this would prevent my account being turned into collections and she said "no, it will still go to collections!" I got furious and asked why she didn't bother to mention that! That was the whole point of me calling! She got an attitude and started interrupting me and over talking me and I called her out on it and said PLEASE STOP INTERRUPTING ME! To which her reply was, "oh, I didn't know you were still talking." Seriously!? What a horrific experience and rip off company! I pray to God that I never have an emergency that requires I got back to that hospital! I am a young college student, trying to further my education to be a productive member of society. I wanted to pay my bill instead of being like the thousands that don't even care, they just become part of the problem and expect someone else to foot the bill. I pay a lot of money to my insurance company every month, plus was trying to pay this bill and this is the treatment I got! More dishonesty by lies of omission. I should have been properly informed from the get go and if that lady wasn't the one who I needed to ask about the cost of care then she should have told me that and I would have asked someone else! And then to be treated like a low life when I was trying to make arrangements to PAY my bill and not be informed that even though I had made contact and wanted to make payments, my account would still go to collections! This is unacceptable and part of the problem of healthcare. I'm disgusted. And the doctor was 40 minutes LATE and he couldn't "get what he needed" without doing an internal exam.. probably a ploy to charge me more money! Desired SettlementI want an apology and for this company to work with me on a payment arrangement that will not still get turned into collections when I am trying to pay for it! If they had told me up front about the costs I would have postponed this appointment until I had a job again! It wasn't life or death, it could have waited. Then to be get the horrible service I did, 40 minutes late to the appointment, and that awful [redacted] that accused me of not trying to get a job and not telling me that the payment arrangement she just told me I could make would still make my account go to collections is completely unacceptable! Yet again, if I hadn't asked a specific question, the "right question," I would have been screwed! Clearly I am trying to do the right thing and pay my bill, even after having been deceived to start with! But to be treated with no respect from this rude woman is ridiculous. I honestly think the right thing to do would be to waive the fees since I was deceived from the start. But at the VERY least I expect the company to work with me and apologize for their deceptive practices and rude employees.Business Response After a thorough investigation of the incident reported, the customer was contacted and extended an apology for receiving less than excellent service. A mutually acceptable resolution was achieved.

Getting the run around about billing. I have an outstanding bill from when I was pregnant and hospitalized overnight in Sanford, NC. In November 2015. I thought this matter was resolved until I received a collections notice. At the time of service, I had two insurances. My primary insurance was billed first. Then [redacted] to follow.(as usual). When the claim was submitted to [redacted], [redacted] paid a portion but not all of it and stated that the billing codes are incorrect. If the billing codes would be changed, it would be covered. They instructed me to call my doctor and speak about the billing codes. I called the doctor/midwife and they stated they were paid and that the hospital must have done some incorrect billing codes and to call them. I called the hospital and they're saying I have to speak to the doctor about the codes. Everyone is saying it's the other persons responsibility and I just need to get this resolved and out of collections. I thought this was taken care of months ago but just got notice it was sent to collections. I am not responsible for the bill as I was covered by dual insurances and someone coded something incorrectly yet I'm getting the run around as to how to get this resolved. It's showing negatively on my credit for something that should be easily resolved if the two could/would communicate. [redacted] states that when they received the bill and saw that codes were incorrect, they requested the codes to be corrected and a new bill to be sent but it hasn't happened. Desired SettlementI would like for the billing codes to be reviewed. A rep to call [redacted] to find out what is incorrect and have this matter resolved. And off my credit report! Business Response the claim has been filed correctly and processed by [redacted]. We have made the necessary adjustments to the patient's accounts and there is no balance due. this account was not reported to the credit bureau.
