*** DROP-OFF CAR AT CENTRAL COLLISION BODY SHOP FOR FIXING REAR BUMPER ON 3/4/20
I(***) picked up the car on 3/10/20 from Central Collision body shop for replacing new bumper but I forgot to check before I left. They never walked me around my car after the repair. When I got home, I found there was a huge scratch on the bumper. I contacted the shop and they told me to bring the car back so they can take a look. I brought the car back to the shop right away. When we got there, the lady named *** was in the office and she did not even said hello to us. She came out and took a quick look at the car and she rudely stated that they are not responsible for the damage. When the car left the shop they were no longer responsible for the car. The way she spoke to us was very unprofessional, disrespectful, condescending and nasty. She didn’t even try to at least apologize or say they would investigate to see what they could do. There was no way I could have caused this damage in the 20 minutes or so when I left the dealer and went straight home. From my home, I turned right around and went to the shop. This type of damage looks like they dropped the bumper, hit a piece of equipment on it, or used an old bumper they had. They apparently hoped or figured that I wouldn’t notice it.

Enclosed please find the response to complaint ID #***. As you can see the original response was sent on 3/20/20, the same day the letter was received in the mail. The vehicle was dropped off on 3/4/20 for a minor rear bumper repair. We took it apart and ordered parts from *** next door. The part the customer is referring to is brand new from *** along with 3 other parts that were replaced, we have the invoice to prove it. When the vehicle was completed and came back from clean up, I personally, as the manager inspected it, there was no damage on the rear bumper we just repaired. If there had been damage on the new part we would have simply returned it for another one prior to installing it. We would never have put a damaged new part on a vehicle. The customer was gone from our facility for over an hour when she called back about the damage. We have no way of knowing where she went when she left our property, but the vehicle did not leave here with that damage on it. We can not be held responsible for any vehicle once it leaves our property. Something happened to the repaired bumper, but it didn't happen here. We have an impeccable reputation for quality and customer service. If we thought we were responsible for this, we would gladly take care of it, but we're not.
