Central Home Inspections, Inc. Reviews (8)

In response to the recent complaint. In the inspection report it states to have the buyer consult both the Seller & an expert regarding the Drain, waste & vent piping. Further Ms. [redacted] has on two occasions signed an Inspection/contract agreement with our company which limits our liability to the cost of the Inspection services. If the instructions in the report would have been simply followed, perhaps it would have been found that the Seller had knowledge of past drain problems & this could have been all resolved before closing.
Thank-You  [redacted],  Central Home Inspections

First I would like to thank the Revdex.com for allowing Businesses to respond to complaints without allowing consumers to post anything they desire without the other side.
I have attached the Home Inspection Report for property known as  [redacted]
The Report is very...

thorough identifying over 60 deficiencies and or monitoring items.  We have been performing inspections for over 12 years and this complaint is our first to date.
Items in the report Section 6.2 under "Plumbing" identify that the "Buyer" should consult an expert plumbing contractor to verify proper connections & operation of DWV piping & to further have the laundry room & bathroom piping inspected due to remodeling & additions by the "Seller". Also stating that the DWV piping appeared to be in working order @ the time of inspection and to monitor to the systems. (DWV stands for plumbing Drain, Waste, & Venting.)
Ms. [redacted] contacted us and stated that after a couple days of moving into her home that the main sewer line backed up. She stated that she called the Home warranty Co. & they had the pipes rodded to clear.  She then stated that the Pipes again soon backed up. She asked for me to contact the Home warranty Co. Which I did.
I explained to them the situation asking if they would have the plumber that went to the home contact me. He didn't contact me through the weekend (Friday-Monday) Ms. [redacted] sent me several not so nice e-mails regarding resolution of the problem. Ms. [redacted] included the Plumbers direct phone number in approximately 200 size font.
I called & reached the plumber to discuss his findings, he stated that he rodded the pipes & everything was operating properly, further stating that he ran the water for approximately 20 minutes without back up. I mentioned to him that I also ran the plumbing fixtures for a period of time without any incident @ the time of inspection. He stated that he could return to re-rod the piping & noted that when he rodded the line that it appeared to have grease on the cable when he pulled it out of the piping. So I said thank-you and let's follow up after you return to the home.
The plumber had stated that Ms. [redacted] has to contact his Co. because they are a home warranty Co. and she is the contracted name. I e-mailed Ms. [redacted] explaining the conversation and stating I am trying to help. She returned e-mail stating she is tired of the back & forth and that she is not paying a service fee to the Home warranty Co. and said she will have the Revdex.com handle this!

Regards,

Review: I used this company twice for two different homes I was interested in purchasing .... upon moving into the home I purchased I had an electrical issue and MAJOR plumbing issues (plural) that shoulve been caught during the "inspection" I contacted central home inspections after my new home warranty told me to per this was a preexisting condition - and was met with a very combative attitude. Not only was I having to deal with this nightmare in my new dream home , I was also hung up on & berrated, I've never felt so cheated - and all of this could have and should have been avoided - as a new homeowner I took all the necessary precautions and paid OUT OF POCKET to have a home inspection done the right way , or so at least I thoughtDesired Settlement: I would like for central home inspections to replace the toilet that is calcified shut - repair the mail line to rectify what ever is the preexisting underlining issue - admit wrong doing and make it right - they have already offered to extend 100.00 twords repairs but that does not cover the cost of what needs to be done to this home to make it liveable I am a single hard working mother of two who just purchased the home me and my little family have been hoping and praying for - Ive wrked hard to own my own home and feel that ive been had - I just want the things that should have been caught in the inspection to be remedied
