Review: Paid a deposit to have the contractor install additional heat capacity, and he has not been able to fulfill the request nor refund my deposit. He visited twice and explained that he did nit have my money as yet, and is no longer communicating with me. Work was signed for and deposit was $1800 back in November. Unable to get a response from the business.Desired Settlement: I expect that my $1800 be refunded as committed by the owner of the business. A registered letter was issued and no response.

Review: On 10-22-13, I contacted [redacted] and told him that the furnace would not turn on.He was at the house at 4:30pm and stated that the furnace needed a part, and did something to the furnace that turned it on, yet it was very loud and clearly needed repair. He called someone on his cell phone, and told me that the part would cost $379.11.He told me to make out a check to him, to "save the tax." He said he would call when it came in. On Thursday I called him and it was not in, nor was it in Friday. He said that it would be in Monday and he would come then. He showed up Saturday,I was away and my 27 year old daughter let him in.He said he had the part and my daughter called my husband, Tom. He told my daughter it was $190.00 for the repair cost, and he was written a second check. He then told my husband via my daughger that he would be back the following weekend to "oil" the furnace. On Tuesday, 10-29-13 I returned and the furnace was still making a loud noise, and had not been fixed. I contacted him and he said that "he told us that the part did not fit" and he had to get another part. He never told us that, and cashed both checks. He was asked why he asked for a second check, for the repair that he did not complet and he said "I shouldn't have and I was going to return it", he never did.So one week later, the furnace is not fixed and he has our money.I asked him for a receipt for the part, and I did not get that either. He is supposed to return a check today. He has been in jail for theft, deception and unlawful taking according to public record, and bail was set at 55,000 some odd dollars in 2013. This man is a theif, and a fraud, and needs to be stopped especially, since this area was so hard hit from Sandy. I am having another HVAC come out to see what is wrong with the furnace.Desired Settlement: I simply want my money back, and I want this on record. We as consumers are at the mercy of these repairmen and this is a complete disgrace!

Review: Our Navien hot water and furnace combination stopped working on Friday, January 10, 2014, four months after we moved back home after being displaced by Superstorm Sandy. We contacted Mr. [redacted] at Central Jersey Mechanical HVAC because he was listed as a certified Navien technical through the Navien website. He came to our home, required a $125.00 service fee which we had no problem paying and contacted the manufacturer about the part that we needed. We were old it would be overnighted and we would have the part by Monday morning the latest. We called Monday afternoon and he advised that the part would be in Tuesday morning. He failed to call and I contacted him late Tuesday afternoon when he told me the part should be there that day and when it arrived he would come and install it. I never heard from him Tuesday or Wednesday. We contacted the manufacturer and they advised that Mr. [redacted] received the part on Tuesday at 3:31PM. Mr. [redacted] arrived Thursday morning, installed the part, let water drain onto my dryer and throughout my utility room. He had the part working for 10 minutes topped, called the manufacturer and my request (they asked us to have him call regarding the install when he arrived), he argued with the company, hung up on them and advised me that he was leaving the cover off of our combination hot water heater/furnace so that he could check that it was working in a few hours when he stopped by. I called Mr. [redacted] two hours after he left to advise him the unit was not working again. He never returned my calls nor did he stop by as he said he would.Desired Settlement: I would like the $125.00 service fee back from Mr. [redacted] because I had to now hire another contractor to fix my unit after he was hired to do so. I am hoping that he does not receive any funds from Navien in that he did not complete the job and I had to hire and pay another company to do so.
