To Whom It May Concern, I am writing in response to a complaint filed on 4/24/by *** ***The complaint ID #is ***The complaint is concerning the amount of money that was put on hold on the customer's credit card after he purchased fuel from our Central Point, OR Shell station
I understand the customer's frustration over this practice, but the transactions take place between the customer's credit card company and *** ***Thisis the same for all national Shell retailersThe hold on the credit card is automated from the Shell network until the customer's bank or Credit Card Company clears the transactionThe hold should have fallen off the following day, but I completely understand the customer's frustration if he was unable to make other purchases the same dayThe best solution for the customer would be to contact his or her own bank to dispute the hold and ask that they refrain from doing this in the future, or contact Shell for more information as to why they put this hold on certain fuel purchasesThey can be reached at *** In regards to the way the customer has said that a store employee responded to him, I certainly hope that none of our employees would every handle a complaint in that mannerI have reached out to both the store and the customerThe store manager has assured me that they have retrained on how to respond to a customer's inquiry or complaint, and that any response similar to what this customer says he experienced would be cause for terminationWe try to uphold a high level of customer service and it would never be acceptable for an employee to tell a customer he did not care about their issueI appreciate the Revdex.com reaching out to us and providing us the opportunity to respond to the complaint filedIf there is anything more I can do, or any more information I can provide to resolve this complaint please contact me at the number or email address below
