*** *** *** made her reservation online thru ***. Her credit card was given to guarantee the reservation for late arrival. It clearly states the cancellation policy on the reservation. "If cancelled or modified up to day before the date of arrival, no fee
will be charged." "If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, 100% of the first night will be charged. This room was held all night for *** *** due to the credit card guarantee. Because it was New Years Eve and the hotel was sold out due to guaranteed reservations, we had to turn business away. If she wasn't going to use the room she should have cancelled the reservation and we could have sold it to someone who needed it. She is responsible for the No Show Charge

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because it clearly states that my card will not be charged and that it will only be used to make a reservation I had no money on the card when I booked it cause I was planning to pay cash.  Also my card was charged on 12/**/15 when it distinctly said no charge would be made and then there was 2 charges  $231 THEN $228.  This is false advertisement.  You state my reservation was made through [redacted] but I also made another reservation through [redacted] and my card declined because it wasn't a valid card at the time I booked the reservation.  So saying I made the reservation through [redacted] is no excuse the reservation wasn't valid to begin with. Good Afternoon[redacted] booked at Non-Smoking room which is what he was given upon check in.  Yes you do have to walk down 7 steps from street level to the lobby.  We also have a handicap lift and a ramp in the rear of the hotel for anyone who can not walkdown the steps. ...

Once inside the hotel we do have an elevator to the 2nd and 3rd floor.  [redacted] was given a room on the lobby level.  Room [redacted].  Our standard rooms do not come equipped with microwaves or refrigerators.  Only our Suites havemicro/refrig.  If [redacted] had any issues with his room he did not relay that information to the front desk.  If he had they would have re-located him to another room immediately.  I am aware that [redacted] called the hotel to complain that he was charged forhis return stay on Jan. [redacted] when he claims he cancelled that reservation upon his departure on Dec. [redacted].  He was not charged for the return stay but did have a hold on his card for $167.71 which I released on Wednesday Jan. 18th.  In order to have thatrelease on his card done immediately I had to charge the card for $1.00 to release the $166.71 and then refund the $1.00.  [redacted] was only charged $116.07 for the first night that he stayed at the hotel.

This guest is not telling the truth.  She made a reservation for 2 rooms on July **, 2016 at 1:44AM for arrival on August **, 2016. She made these reservations on-line thru [redacted] and chose the Advance Purchase Reservations which would have discounted the rate by 10%.  It...

clearly states Pay Now And Save Prepaid, Non-Cancellable and Non Refundable.   She chose to book this reservation to save the 10%.  She May or May Not have tried to contact the hotel directly to cancel the reservation at some time and would have been told by the front desk that they are not able to cancel this reservation because it is a non-cancellable reservation.  They would have told her to contact Choice Hotels Directly.  I know for a fact that I had not spoken to this person.  Please know that when reservations are made and guaranteed by credit card the hotel is liable to hold that room all night and up until 7AM the next morning for the guest to check in which is what we did with the 2 rooms she prepaid for.  The hotel is not liable for the reservations she booked.  We followed the proper procedures.

Guest was and is still being charged for a reservation she booked and guaranteed for arrival on Dec. **, 2015.  That room was held for her and she did not use nor did she even try to cancel so that the room could have been sold to someone else.We have also paid [redacted] the commission for this reservation.  She is more than welcome to contact [redacted] to dispute.  Hotel policy is clearly stated on the [redacted] website regarding cancellation and No Show charges.
