Complaint: [redacted]
I am disagreeing with this response because:  There are statements in their response that were NEVER mentioned to me at all.  In short, I was told  the clearing / cleaning of the nasal / sinus passages would not truly benefit immune diseases such as my polymyositis but might only help me to breath better for awhile which I was willing to undergo, and I was definitely told the procedure would be performed on my second visit - which it was not,  Apparently the satellite team who travels to this Bastrop location were just not prepared at all, even though Dr. [redacted] DID mention to me it would be done while I "sit in this chair right here".  The technical statements submitted to the Revdex.com, although very, very technical in nature, are just not what I was told at all at the time of my exams.  Dr.. [redacted] was much more thorough in this report to the Revdex.com than he was to me, I will always feel like I was just shuffled through my exam, and the procedure was NOT provided as I was told it would be DURING my 2nd visit.  I most certainly STILL feel my account with them should be considered completely settled without any further payment from a disabled / handicapped person such as myself.
Regards,
[redacted]

Office                                     ... Wednesday, January 6th 2016 1005 La Posada Drive Austin, TX 78752 To whom it may concern, This is a response to a letter dated December 9th 2015; ID number [redacted] regarding a patient complaint. The patient had a complaint that he was seen two separate times 6-19-2015 and 7-10-2015, ' and that a procedure could not be performed on the patient on the very same day as the office visit. The patient also felt that he had spoken with me for approximately four minutes during each visit, and he had not been treated fairly but did not give specific examples. After review of the patients chart, he was. seen on June 19th 2015 and the patient has a complicated medical history including pulmonary transplant and history of being on significant immunosuppressants, as well as a personal history of Polymyocytis. His clinic exam on the first visit revealed physical changes of chronic sinusitis and septal deviatioh, with enlarged turbinates. The patient was then informed at the time of visit that the next step in the patient's treatment plan would involve radiographic imaging, and would require a second appointment to review and pertinent findings. The patient followed up on July 10th, 2015. The Cat Scan results were then reviewed. There are several types of sinus procedures to address patients with this general diagnosis. However, due to the severity of the Cat scan findings, it was recommend that the patient would not benefit from an in office procedure. The patient was advised to undergo an intraoperative surgical repair under general anesthesia which was required to be scheduled at a later date for obvious reasons. In summary, the patient was seen for an initial consultation with a surgical sub specialist. His second visit was to follow up on radiographic imaging which would help confirm the patient's diagnosis, as well as narrow surgical options to the procedure which is most appropriate for the patient. On July 16th the patient was contacted to schedule the recommended procedure and the patient opted to not complete the procedure due to incompatibilities with the patient's personal schedule. The option was left with the patient to follow up as needed if he had any questions, or to contact the office to pursue any further medical or surgical treatment. We encourage the patient to follow up in person for further discussion and to review his recommended plan of care. Sincerely,   [redacted], M.D.
