She had been paying $76.99 per month for tem insurance only prior to the conversion and then the new premium for the whole life policy was $165. per month which included a rider to allow her to add even more funds to the contract in the future. The policy was completed and delivered to her on October 22,2015. She had a 10 day free look on the contract to cancel the contract . This is a standard provision for all life policies that a client can change their mind and have the contract rescinded. She did not exercise this right. She later met with the agent in December and said that the $165.per month was too high. The agent stopped the paid up additions rider which reduced the premium. I was asked to come into the meeting and we only discussed ways for her to improve her cash flow to find the additional $78. 01 per month. We gave her 3 ideas and she seemed happy when she left. The agent followed up with a phone call to see if she had in fact made the changes to provide more funds within her budget. She did not return the call. Then in April the agent saw the cancellation of the contract and called to client to see what he could do to assist her and she hung up on him. We do not have the ability to return any funds as she is correct she purchased a contract. Had she been involved in an accident and died or had died of any cause her beneficiary would have receive the full death benefit of $176,446 even though she had not made a full annual payment. She made a consideration for the contract and the contract was inforce.
