Centry Air Designs Reviews (%countItem)

I purchased two central air units from this company in June 2018. One ac unit stopped working around a week or more. I contacted Century Air Designs, they sent a repairman out the next day. It is blowing out hot air, obviously there is a leak. The Tech says $225 for freon. My contract states 1yr on parts and labor. Ten years on parts but I must pay labor. Why could they not do a leak detection test ? !!!! I spoke to the manager *** who says I must pay for freon. I refused and it did leak out. Bjs Wholesale club who contracted Century Air Designs is telling me to contact Rheem Corporate.

Every time this company comes out $$$$$$$$$

This customer purchased her AC unit 2 years ago which means that her 1 year warranty labor is no longer in effect. Anything that happens to the AC unit after 1 year the labor is not covered. The purpose of this warranty is to ensure that if there is any kind of defect with the AC or the installation it will come up and be covered so the customer does not wind up paying for something that is not their fault. This customer also has not called us in 1.5 years for any kind of maintenance, has someone else been working on the unit ? Who has been maintaining it? Did someone else work on it and damage it? These are all things we do not know. A leak test test costs us a lot of money to do and is time consuming and yet the customer wants us to come out and do it for free? When she has not even been maintaining the unit? I am sorry the customer is unhappy having to pay but we cannot give customers free services.

First I read my contract and he is right it states 1yr parts and labor. UNDERSTOOD. Then it says 10yrs parts but I must pay labor/ UNDERSTOOD. If it is leaking freon why do they come out and want to charge you for freon then leave. Just to let the Revdex.com know I called Antartica Mechanical in Miami they came out and I gave them my contract. They called Rheem and took care of everything. They actually worked on it ALL day to fix the leak NEVER said you must pay us for freon first! When I went to give the gentlemen a check for his ALL day labor he would not let me! He came out this past Tuesday and said let me come out Thursday to make sure it is working. I told him I trust you but be careful in this day and age someone might take advantage and not pay you. He came out again on Thursday and did work. My air works great I paid him and I will definitely use this company again. There was an obvious leak. Century Air Designs is squirming and acting like I was trying to get something for free. The repair person with Antartica Mechanical, his name is ***. He agreed we do not charge you for freon then come back and look for the the leak. PLEASE feel free to contact *** I knew this response from Century Air would not be good. I also looked at my Century Air contract more closely they stated on the contract a new slab was poured. The same slab of 40yrs is still there. Very grateful Revdex.com that you tried to help me. Sincerely

Centry Air Designs Inc is a credible company with years of experience in air conditioning. They are my go-to company for all heating and air conditioning repairs or replacements. I called on a Friday late afternoon in November when it was announced that in South Florida we were getting a cold front and the tech was at my doorstep first thing Saturday morning. He fixed the issue in about an hour and the fee was competitive. I highly recommend that you give Centry Air a try!
They are prompt, professional, and helpful.

Centry Air Designs installed a new ac unit in my house. They came over right away and got the job done. They are professional, reliable, and most of all trustworthy. Truly the best customer service I have ever experienced. Thankyou Centry Air Designs.

New central A/C unit was installed on September 27,2019. The technician failed on provide three items as per contract
New Central A/C unit was installed on 09/27/2019,the company sent one tech to install concrete slab and a 3.5 ton machine , he started at 11 am and finished at 10 pm, due to time he was not able to complete the job and told me to call the office the next day, he did not place a filter on the A/c. The next day *** told me that they are going to send a tech in the afternoon to complete the job( installation of the filter, a bypass on top of the door and sanitize, this happened on a Saturday, they never called or went to my house. We bought a filter , placed the filter on Saturday night but the A/C was doing a pitching sound .I called again *** on Monday and told her about the sound , and that the tech never
called us or complete the job. *** told me that they were busy until Wednesday so I accepted a visit to complete the job and check the abnormal sound for Wednesday October ,2;2019. On Wednesday, today, *** call me past 11am to tell that the tech was in route to my house . I was in a medical appointment but my mother and niece was in the house. I call my niece after my appointment to check on the job but she told me that the technician was unaware of the job to be completed neither of the abnormal sound and he left the house without completing the job.I called *** right away and she told me that the tech was the owner of the company and he reported that my mom did not allow him to enter to the house , which is a lie because everyone in the house were waiting for the job to be completed. I asked when the tech is going to complete the job as per contract and she replied that she has no one until maybe next Monday , but she was going to call me back with a date, she never called back. These services are part of the contract and the system is new and on guaranteed.Installation date was 09/27/2019. Model:***. Heater model: ***. Cost:5,320, financed.

Desired Outcome

I want them to check the A/C , check the outside sistem and the inside system, place the correct filter, install the bypass on top of the door and sanitize. All of this ASAP

We sent out a tech to install the unit on September 27, 2019 and the job took longer than expected so we had to reschedule to finish the job. The owner did come out to personally deal with the situation however, he was told the owner of the home was not there and the person who answered the door said that they were occupied at that moment and he was not let in. We have installed the bypass, sanitized the ducts, and delivered a new filter to the customer. At this time all the customers concerns have been resolved.

New Ac unit that was installed by Centry Air Designs a 2.5 ton packaged AC Unit which is the wrong size and they wont change for the right size.
I purchased a new Goodman 2.5 Ton 14 SEER Package unit #GPCK1430H41E on 8/6/19. My invoice *** On 8/8/19 I called the company to advise them that the home was not cool and could it be possible that they installed the wrong size unit. The manager *** and his boss came to home to inspect the unit. *** stated that everything was working. I told him that the air is barely blowing out of the air vents. He inspected the unit outside and advised that they needed to order a part to make the air blow harder into the unit. I told them the that unit they installed is the incorrect size. He advised me that 2.5 ton is the size for a 800sq ft home. I told him that the home is not 800sq ft and its actually 1600sq ft mobile home. I've called and visit them in the office in regards to this issue but to no avail. We financed this unit for $5000 and it not the right size.

Desired Outcome

Install the right size package unit which is a 3.5 ton package unit.

Centry Air Designs Response • Dec 19, 2019

Before the new AC unit was installed, the owner and a salesman went out and measured the size of the home which was 810 square feet (400-500 square feet per ton is the measurement for AC unit sizing). It was determined that a size 2.5 Ton unit was what was necessary to cool the home, anything bigger would cause mildew issues, the home was measured again for accuracy. The owner and salesman went out after installation and explained the sizing to the customer and the gentleman's concerns were answered and we have not heard from this customer since August 2019. This complaint was answered in a form that was sent back by mail but it appears that it was never received since this complaint is showing as open and if you look at previous history we have always given an answer to any complaints. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding this complaint. Thank You

The home size in question for the AC unit is in correct. My home is double wide trailer and the actual size is a 40x40 in feet. Therefore making it 1600 sq ft. which means I needed a 3.5 ton AC unit. The owner and the salesman did come out and placed some device inside the unit for it to boost up the air flow. This has caused the AC unit make a loud noise when it turns on. We have called the company once we've gotten off from work but their after hours dispatch has failed to rely the message. I have both titles and registrations for the double wide mobile home. I have attached both registrations and titles that was issued from State of Florida. All I'm asking for that they correct the unit.

Centry Air Designs Response • Jan 08, 2020

As discussed with Revdex.com, with made an appointment with this customer and went out to measure the size of the trailer for a third (3) time and again verified that the correct size unit was installed . The home measures 40' x 26' or 1040 sf which takes a 2.5 ton unit which was installed. The way the size is determined is 1 ton for every 500 square feet. Anything bigger would cause mold issues in the home. They also checked out the noise the unit was making at start up and determined that was a normal noise for the Goodman units. The unit is cooling as it is supposed to. We hope this will satisfy the customers concerns.

Century came out and did the measurements however they are basing the tonnage as if this was a home with a foundation. This is a mobile home that does not have a lot of installation therefore when it gets hot in the summer's it's really hot in the home and when it's cold it gets really cold. I originally had 3.5 ton AC Unit that they removed. The technician stated he had pictures of my unit which he failed to provide me with that he took. I had a another AC company come out to give me an estimate as to what size AC Unit I need. They stated I need a 3.5 AC Unit. The estimate is attached.

Centry Air Designs Response • Jan 13, 2020

The AC unit size is determined by the size of the home that it is cooling. It has nothing to do with its foundation, many homes do not sit directly on concrete and have crawl space underneath. We have been in this business for over 30 years and we would not remove a 3.5 ton unit from a home and put in a 2.5 ton unit. It does not benefit us in any way, because dealing with complaints from a customer who is not happy because their home is not cooling is not worth the trouble. And this UNITED BREEZE comes out and gives them an estimate stating they need a 3.5 ton unit like the one they had? How do these is know what size unit was installed in the home before? I can guarantee that it would not pass *** calculations for that size home. If this customer knows for sure they had a 3.5 ton unit in their home why did they sign a contract for a 2.5 ton unit? Attached is a photo of the thermostat temperature inside the home taken in August 2019.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This company has not given us a resolution to the problem. Yes the did in fact removed a 3.5 ton ac unit. The technician that came *** stated to us that we did not need 3.5 ton and that it wasn't necessary. I insisted to him that we needed it and he assured me that it wasn't necessary that 2.5 will cool off the entire house. As of today we are still utilizing our window unit to cool off our room. When it's hot outside it is extremely hot inside our bedroom which cause us to turn on the window unit. This company and their technician have been dealing with AC unit for 40yrs so I truly don't believe they are is. By them giving me an estimate, they don't gain anything from it. This was just to prove to the company and owner that a larger ton is needed. I'm trying not to have sue the civilly in court. I just want them to resolve my issue by giving the right AC unit size.

Centry Air Designs Response • Jan 15, 2020

First of all I know who this company is and whom the owner is and they have not been in business 40 years. In fact, they worked for us before they even started their business in 2010. The owner has never even been an AC Tech. Second, this customer originally had a 2 ton unit and had an estimate for a 3.5 ton unit when we went out to do the original estimate. The 3.5 ton unit was too much for the space and we installed a 2.5 ton unit as per space and equipment calculations. The owner, the Sales Manager and the Tech all verified to me that the original unit was a 2 ton unit. So 3 different people that went out to various calls from this customer and all verified the same thing. The customer insisted they had 1600 square feet and so we went out to measure the home a 3rd time and verified that they did only have 1040 square feet even though the customer was still insisting they had 1600 square feet despite us showing them the measurements with a measuring tape. We also went to check out the unit to make sure it was working correctly and it was. This customer's unit was installed in August and we had not heard any complaints from customer until I responded to the Revdex.com complaint in late December. If your brand new ac unit was not working would you go 4 months without calling the company? Especially, in the hottest months of the year. I attached a photo of the thermostat which was taken in August of 2019 showing the house was at 73 degrees.

The technician that came out from the other company and he in fact have been dealing with AC Units for 40yrs, he just so happens to work for this company. Needless to say, we have complained to you all 3 time back in August of last year. Due to your dispatch or after hours person they failed to deliver the message the first 2 times and that's why the owner came out because we were so upset. If this unit is the correct size why is it that I'm still this day using a window AC unit cool off my bedroom. You all are a terrible company and are not willing to correct the issue. If the new AC Unit was working fine , why did you all place a device to make the air blow out harder then originally installed. Basically, you don't want admit there is something wrong with Unit. It seems like I need to get an attorney or take you all to court.

Centry Air Designs did an excellent job in the replacement of my AC unit. Unfortunately, my unit went out on a Saturday morning and I was afraid I would be the whole weekend without air, but they came in and gave me an estimate and I was able to replace my unit that same day. The techs were polite and well mannered and I and my family were able to sleep in comfort that night. Thank you Centry Air Designs.

The most unprofessional incompetent Company I've ever done business with, and God knows I've tried to hold back from making this comment. Their manager *** is the worse manager I've ever came across in my life. But I guess the company keeps him on staff because the others cannot speak English. I've been dealing with this company almost a year regarding the installation of my AC unit. And until this very minute they can't fix it properly. My electric bill have been the worst since installing the unit. My rooms were not cooling properly after installation, they remedy 2 but until today almost one year after my daughter's room is still not cooling properly. I've called and complain until I'm sure they are annoyed and so am I. They came on August XX XXXX to figure if the unit is working correctly....I heard a loud noise and started *** smoke in my house. Apparently they had short circuit something...don't ask me I don't know. For a few hours the unit was not working. They finally got it to cool after a few hours. Then the thermostat was now not coordinating with the unit. I reported the problem to them the same day. They said to give it a few hours. Following day Aug 23rd I reported to them again about the same issue with the thermostat. Was told they were going to change the thermostat. They told me on the 23rd they will not make it until the 24th between 1-2 pm. 2 pm passed so I called. *** (manager) would not answer my phone call so I used my daughter's phone to call which he answered. I asked what's going on....He told me he's having lunch he will call me back. 1 hrs passed he didn't call so I used my daughter's phone to call...he didn't answer. After some time passed I received a text message saying, "Mr. one of my guys got sick and went home so we be there Monday Aug26." So now from August 22nd to Aug 26 I'm suppose to go back and fort switching of the unit because I have no control of setting the temperature on the thermostat, so when my children complains...contd

Desired Outcome

Refund At the moment I am seeking legal advise because I'm tired and exhausted by this company. They are driving me crazy and I have my kids to live for. There was smoke coming from my room on Aug 22 and my daughter's room is still not cooling properly plus my thermostat is still not fix and today is August 26. I have to turn this off manually and CANNOT set temperature. I'm mentally drained.

We have been out to this customers home many times to determine what is the issue the customer is having. A new thermostat was installed in the home as per contract and the customer requested a different one that was wifi which we upgraded at no cost. The issues with the unit stemmed from the thermostat being faulty, the reason it was not caught sooner is because the thermostat issue was intermittent and not constant, and each time we checked it there was not an issue with it. A YORK Tech has been out and taken measurements and temperature and has determined that the unit is working correctly, and there is nothing wrong with the unit. We have sent a form to their Engineer Department to have someone take a second look to make sure everything is running as it should. The customer also had an issue with one of the rooms not cooling correctly and we have been out to the home and made alterations so the room would cool correctly. At this time all the customers issues have been resolved.
