Review: We were in the market to purchase our first home and had a buyer's agent helping us through the process. We found a house we loved and the listing agent was [redacted]. We put in an offer and after some negotiating, both parties came to an agreement. Our closing date was set for November 11th, 2013. Due to delays caused by the sellers, we had to file an extension for November 15th instead of the 11th. The extension addendum was submitted to [redacted] November 8th, but [redacted] never gave it to the sellers. On the 13th of November, since we still had not heard the status of the original extension and now were close to the November 15th deadline, we were forced to submit another extension request. This time [redacted] did submit the extension request to the sellers, but since the original contract ended on the 11th, we were no longer technically in contract with the seller. Friday, November 15th, our agent finally heard back from [redacted] who stated that an extension was granted by the sellers until November 27th. Tuesday, November 19th, our agent found out the the extension was NOT granted and now we would be forced to enter into an entirely new contract. Frustrating! We signed the new contract as quickly as we could, and the next day we heard back that the contract was accepted. During the entire process, [redacted] was almost never able to be reached and we were lied to constantly about the progress being made (or not made in this case!). This entire ordeal caused me to have to rebook numerous airplane tickets, as I was due to fly out of state shortly after our scheduled closing date. I was also not able to have a set schedule while working during this time because there was always the possibility I would need to be available to sign, not to mention the stress and distrust this caused.Desired Settlement: I feel I should be compensated for the airplane tickets I had to purchase for this ordeal, as well as the accommodations I was forced to use in the meantime.
