I totally disagree with their responseMy nanny was not living there at any timeShe was only there to move all the furniture that I gave her. No other occupant lives there except ,y son and I occasionally I will pay the water billI didn't damage any blinds and all the blinds were old and bendI have it written down and signed by CANTURY
They charged me for light bulbs and blindsThese are all bogus claimI paid a cleaning lady to clean the house from top to bottomI even had her clean the stove and refrigerator I have pictures of all the rooms and refrigerator and kitchenThey charge me for wear and tear of all the old blinds and old appliances
I'm being charge with bogus items and I want my deposit of return

propertymanagement industry in Spokane as referenced by Realsatisfied.com. It is important for us to resolvethis issue, and although it may not be possible to address our previous tenants concern to theirsatisfaction, we would like to offer our explanation and documentation for your review of the matter.
The party who has brought this complaint against Century 21 Property management appears to be arelative of the tenant who rented the home in Sept 2015. We have not had any contact with him andwere not aware of his involvement until this letter. At no time previous did he attempt to contact uswith his concerns. The home had just been sold to the current owner and a full professional cleaning ofthe carpets and interior had just been done. We do have a complete set of pictures that we haveenclosed. Our records and my personal inspection of the home I would rate it a 9/10 on the conditionscale. Meaning there was some wear but all items were functioning and clean at the time of hispossession.
In regards to the complaint about the maintenance calls that were not answered in a timely fashion, wehave provided our maintenance log for this residence. Everything was in proper working order at thetime of move in and affirmed with tenant signature. Our maintenance log shows we responded to allmaintenance requests we were made aware of.
The issue may revolve around the fact that the tenant left care of this home to another unauthorizedoccupant, whom he referred to as the Nanny. This person who was not listed on the lease and did nothave legal right to occupy the home, may have contributed to the damage and debris that resulted incharges for the tenant. Mr. [redacted], the tenant that we rented this home to was "rarely" by his account,there and not present at the time of move out. He may have been largely unaware of the condition ofthe home or how it was being kept. The tenant has already written us postdated checks for the amountowing, which is why I was surprised to get this correspondence from you. We feel that we have dealt ina fair equitable manner with the tenant. We believe that the tenant relied on his nanny/babysitter tohandle the care and maintenance of the property. As such we were left with heavy cleaning, disposing offurniture and mattress's, and a nearly $400 city utilities bill. I have enclosed documentation for yourreview and welcome any questions you may have in reaching a decision. After reviewing his complaintand our records we are unable to offer Mr. [redacted]'s father any recompense. Our reputation andstanding with the Revdex.com and our local community is important to us. We willcooperate any way we are able and trust your judgement in this matter.

Review: We rented the house from [redacted] for Century21. When we moved out he charged us more for cleaning than was agreed and also for removing items in the house that did not belong to us. We have asked for proof of what was thrown away and now he won't return our calls or emails. He needs to give us the money back from our deposit that was agreed upon (verbally) which was HALF of the cleaning bill and only the charge for the items that were ours which was a small pile of things left at the entrance of the garage as agreed upon. We should not pay for everything that was left in that home from previous tenants.Also, we were charged for the replacement of smoke alarms when the ones that were in the house worked fine. Most were disconnected because he had told us there were too many and they were not needed.Desired Settlement: We would like the money that is still owed to us back sent to [redacted]

Response:

In response to the letter that was received at our brokerage recently regarding the refund of deposit for [redacted] & [redacted], and their complaint (file#9491967). This issue is not related to Century 21 Beutler and Associates, as it was made clear to the tenants that I was the owner of the property and all rent checks would be made to me or my wife. No funds were collected by the brokerage on this property, and all deposits and monies were kept with our rental accounts. I have attached some supporting documentation as was provided to the tenant within the bounds of landlord tenant law. As a good faith gesture we did cover some water damage in the dining ceiling caused by an overflowed tub, and we paid the last month of utilities for the tenant on their lease. We have done all we can to accommodate a fair and equitable exchange with the tenants, however I do not see how Century 21 Beutler is named, as this seems to be a more personal matter between the tenants and I.
