Century Communities Reviews (134)

We have an appointment scheduled for 1/4/at 1:pm to meet with the homeowners to review the list

We apologize for the confusion and breakdown in communication between the buyer and our staff In spite of the fact that the buyer signed our addendum explaining options and upgrades we have agreed to provide the home buyer a credit for the master Bath Shower

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 6, 2015/10/20) */ Since Ms[redacted] has entered her complaint against Century Homes, she has entered into the sales office on multiple occasions and has engaged our sales rep on moving forward with the purchase of the homeAs of this morning, she sent another e-mail asking for her EM back as she doesn't think she can move forward with the contractIf Ms [redacted] would like to back out of the contract, legally we have all the paperwork (signed by Ms***) that would entitle us to keep all of the Earnest Money on the purchaseCentury is willing to offer half of her Earnest Money back (5,000) to end the matter Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 8, 2015/10/23) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I did NOT engage the sales associate after filing the complaint because there was not an offer to change the contract so in my interest I did accept their offer of only half of my earnest money back but I have not received the money yetOnce I receive the money I will accept their response Final Consumer Response / [redacted] (4200, 12, 2015/11/21) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I had asked Century for all of my deposit money back due to the fact that their delay of construction caused the situation as to where I was not sure I could sell my home because of market fluctuationI agreed to getting half of my deposit of $10,back but as a senior with children to raise, I really could use all my money backThey have had my deposit for months nowI agreed to a refund of $not $However they still have not returned any of my money as of 11/21/ Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 14, 2015/12/07) */ This customer has signed our agreement and we have refunded her the money as outlined in the agreement

We continue to work on this customers list of issues Some of the issues are weather related such as replacing the drive and repairing the front sod We will not replace the driveway until May, when we are sure of no freezing temps at night The sod will be repaired once the HOA turns on the irrigation for the community, which should be very soonWe will do our best to address any legitimate warranty issues in this home and bring it to within industry standardsTell us why here

Hello [redacted] - [redacted] , A representative from our Georgia office will be in contact with you regarding your concern if they have not already

Per the terms of the agreement, (which we can send if needed) Ms [redacted] is not longer able to cancel her purchase agreement with Century Homes and receive her earnest money back Our Sales Associate and Sales Managers have been upfront and transparent with Ms [redacted] and we believe we have acted in good faith in holding a home off the market and moving forward with the buyers wants and needs per her requests

Representatives from Century Communities have visited the site and are working with both [redacted] and her adjoining Neighbors to help direct the flow to the property lines to drain toward the streetNeighbors to the south and west have added Retaining walls to level out their respective rear yards As this is now private property we are working with the neighbors to get access to increase the drainage swales and possibly extend downspouts and sump drains to the swale or the addition of a inlet box to carry the surface water away from the retaining wallsOnce we have communicated with both neighbors Century will have our contractor return to increase the swale to direct flows to the south and east These changes should address most rainfallsWith extreme downpours that we have experienced in the past week , most recently on 7/and 7/19/with over an inch of rain in less than a hour period there will be water that will be apparent in the swales up to hours after an extreme rainfall event We anticipate the additional work to be started in the next days once we have the neighbors permission to enter their property and can schedule the appropriate contractor [redacted]

Our Customer Care Representatives will be reaching out to our customer to work on a resolution to resolve the issues brought to our attention

Our Construction people are trying to resolve some minor issues in this home despite a lack of cooperation on the part of the homeowner Our position concerning the tile and shower doors in the bathrooms has not changed The homeowner agreed to accept $2,at closing and closed on the home The sales contract that the homeowner signed has a provision for mediation and or arbitration to resolve issues such as this, I would highly recommend the homeowner take the time to review this provision and take the necessary steps to initiate this process

While Century Communities still feels that the home buyer is in violation of the terms of the contract, we are willing to refund the $7,deposit to the buyer, less a % fee bringing the total refund to $6,

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 13, 2015/11/13) */ Century Communities continues to try and work through this issue with the home buyers Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 15, 2015/11/16) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Century Communities is not continuing to work through this issue (Foundation Issue), the leadership of the company has addressed a framing issue (which is not resolved)The leadership is more concerned with setting "close dates" and "walk-throughs" and not showing up for themThe conversations have not wavered with Century Communities, "we have built a quality home" accept it and please close now Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 17, 2015/11/24) */ The Consumers have defaulted on the contract by failing to close on the home, the contract has been terminatedCentury Communities considers this case closed

Complaint: I am rejecting this response because: I am sleeping on the floor and unless I am willing to pay in advance for a hotel than I have to be inconvenienced in my own homeThis issue was not an act of nature but actually an issue with how the trades placed the vents on the home which caused the blizzard to cause damage inside of "select homes"I have had a fan in my room running for days at this point using my electricityIn addition since I signed the contract on 6/2015, my experience has been less than favorable and Century approach has been more of a "ole well" demeanor In the past I have had homes built and never experienced the type of inconvenience and culture of "non-chalent" that century has expressedSo again besides "nature" the issues that I am requesting compensation areCarpet Cleaning-Trades has been in and out of my house and my carpet is dirty from wear and tear that would not be from people living their especially when we are barely home Inspector-Reimbursement for my inspection cost considering when my independent inspector came out he was not able to perform a complete inspection Time- I have had to give up every day off to have a trade show up to resolve issuesMost of the time trades did not show so it was time wasted from work and things that I had to get handled in my lifeIt would of been different if they showed but they did not and as of today we still do not have all challenges resolved and new issues are arising that Century is aware of I have to call Century to find out when they are coming back to resolve and I am given a "let me call you" back responseI should not have to keep following up with the builderThis is a complete inconvenience and unprofessionalPeople have lives and we are months into a new buildMy toilet- Not to be explicit but anytime there is feces disposed in the toilet we must rinse the feces down by pouring water into the toilet with another bucketWe have had trades come out that represent Century of whom advised Century chose cheap toilets and as a result pouring water in the toilet to flush feces is necessary.UNACCEPTABLE! In addition, if needed I can also send a copy of letters that were sent to VP in which I was not even acknowledged directly prior to closing Sincerely, [redacted] ***
