BY IL law - Landlords have days to return the Security Deposit along with any invoices for amounts deducted. The packet that was mailed on February (move out performed on Feb 3, ) includes the attached as well as a CD of photos of the unit when the move out was performedIt is customary for us to contact the City of Mascoutah to ensure tenants have their power switched over as they are not automated - the City informed us of a forwarding PO Box but unless we hear from the tenant - it is policy for us to send to the address provided by the vacating tenant and if one is not provided - we send it to the address of the unit and hope that the tenant put in a forwarding addressOn March the packet was returned to us as unable to forward. As stated previously several attempts were made to contact Ms*** and grandaughter as well as emergency contact - to no avail. On April I found the Revdex.com email in my junk mail - responded and received another response with information pertaining to Ms***'s forwarding address. Her packet was forwarded on April to the PO Box listed within this emailAs far as the owner's - there are two - one deceased which was the law office on *** *** where Century Development Management Company's attorney is located (the deceased owners law practice that handles CDMC affairs)- the other is Jerry Phillips as indicated previouslyI apologize for any inconvenience this has caused Ms*** - but I have just minutes to respond according to this email. I am at the office alone and have had several interruptions. Security Deposit and information was mailed on February to *** *** *** *** since tenant did not provide a forwarding addressIt was returned to sender by the post office on 3/which we received 3/22. We contacted the City of Mascoutah utility company and they too are looking for
a forwarding address as she owes them money. Here are the notes where we have tried to contact the tenant for a forwarding address: 3/22/***'s SD came back undeliverable. I have a call in to the City of Mascoutah to see if they have a forwarding - they do not. I tried to call Sonja's number and the person on the other end said it was the wrong numberAll numbers listed are either wrong numbers now or disconnectedDG contacted the place that did a landlord verification for them but has not heard back--left a message with them dg3/22/- PTh called *** ***'s emergency contact to try and get in touch with her as her SD refund came back unable to forward - left message on phone that we are trying to return a security deposit. pth 3/29/email sent to Ms***: ***,We have processed your Security Deposit Refund and you have a check in the amount of $545.45. Because we did not have a forwarding address on file we mailed it to your residence at *** hoping you had put in a forwarding address. The package was returned to us over a week ago and we have tried every means we have to reach you. All phone numbers on file are no longer valid. Please either stop by the office to pick up your check OR provide a forwarding address so that we may get your refund to you.Thanks***3/29/second email sent to Ms***: Correction…it was mailed to *** *** *** *** *** * NOT “B”I will be happy to upload all conversations with Ms*** should there be a need. All we need is a forwarding address which she did not provide to us or the City of Mascoutah utility company where she has a balance owed. We too take 120-photos of all units which are included her packet that was returned. Per the move out paper instructions sent days prior to move out (which can be provided as well) tenants are to book their move out date days in advance. We have tenants and therefore cannot stop in the middle of the day to do a move out when the tenant calls that dayPer notes - she booked a day and then had difficulty with movers - she did not call back with a new move out date until the day ofThe address above listed with State of Illinois is office of the deceased owner and is the attorney's office which handles the State of Illinois filing. The deceased owner was also the owner of the law firm. The notes will show that CDMC addressed any and all complaints made by Ms***. According to the police they were unsubstantiated. Please advise if you wish me to upload all complaints and responses - I would be happy to do so. I am rejecting this response because: This manager [redacted] never intended to give us our Deposit Back; because we received a letter and a Security Deposit Interest Check of $3.85 on February 12, 2016 from them. So, there is no way that she mailed the Security Deposit Check to us like she stated in her reply. Also, I would like to know why, they deducted $224.55 from my deposit? There was no reason for this deduction, because I paid $100.00 for the carpet cleaning after we moved out. We didn't do anything wrong to get a partial deposit. We're asking for out full deposit back, after all we've been through. She told the Revdex.com That the owner was dead, but she told us at one time that the owner was [redacted] who owned dry wall Company in Freeburg IL. She said his phone number was [redacted], but that we couldn't speak to him until she called him first. We found this extremely strange. This is one of the reasons why be decided to go to the Recorder of Deeds which showed no such person on file.
