Century Hills Apartments Reviews (4)

Review: The century Hills appartments have unrightfully held back my security deposit stating insuffient notice time provided for vacating their property and are not paying back my security deposit though there are no damages done to their property/apartement I has rented.Details - Century Hills appartment hiked my month to month rent for the second time in 3 months. The second time, they sent a notice for hike on 4-Jan-2014 ([redacted] stamp on envelope) and expect me to give them a notice on 1-Jan-2014 since I refused to accept the new hike and refused to renew lease from 1-feb-2014 like they asked. The notice for hike asked me to either vacate or pay the new rent from 1-Feb-2014. Since the rent was very high, I decided to vacate and the leasing manager asked me confirm her about my decision by 15-Jan-2014.( When I called her on phone to negotiate and express concerns. Since they sent a late notice (4-Jan-2014) , I obviously couldnt not provide a notice to them on first day of current month as per the lease agreement. Century hill management was also not ready to give me a month's time and wanted me to vacate by end of Jan if I could not accept the new rent. However, they now sent me a notice that they have deducted Feb'2014 rent since I did not provide them a 31 day notice. There is no condition in the Lease agreement that asks me to provide them a 31 day notice of a month to month lease period. I have been approaching the management many times since 1-Jan-2014, but they refuse to see the point and It has been a very harrassing experience apart from financial stress( hiking rents twice in 3 months) and hassles.Desired Settlement: I desire the complete refund of my security deposit.I have had many rounds of discussions (Phone calls, personal visit, emails) with Century Hills leasing manager [redacted],But he refuses to understand my point(They cant have a full month notice if they dont give a notice ahead of a month! - Apart from this they seem to have violated more conditions from the lease agreement.( example: Not sending notice sufficiently in advance,Quoting a 31 day notice period that is not on my month to month lease)

Subject: Re: Revdex.com Complaint# [redacted],

Century Hills does not have a Checking account on site. You received the statement which comes from the property direct. The check comes from our [redacted] office after the statement is sent out. The same time the statement is sent to you it is given to the ** accounting office to have the check cut. You should see the check coming shortly.

Thanks,

Review: I placed a deposit on an apartment to hold it and received a welcome letter for that apartment. I gave notice to my current landlord that I would be vacating my current apartment, set up utility service for the new place, and hired professional movers. A couple weeks later I received a phone call the unit I was promised was not available and there were other units I could choose from. I went to look at the other units and was take back because they did not appear anything like the unit I originally placed my deposit on, the place was extremely out dated and I was not pleased. The representative told me 2 apartments similar to the one I made deposit on would be available on 8/7 and at first I was going to accept but decided against because I needed to see the location of the units. The follow up for this request went without response for some time and the rep previously told me they would not be able to help with storage or a temporary place for the 7 days me and my child would be displaced seeing I gave notice to my current landlord and my lease is up 7/31/15, I decided not to go with Century Hills. Since this decision I have been corresponding with the rep and his regional who promised me a full refund I have yet to receive. The regional that promised via email a full refund is no longer with Century Hills but the rep connected me with the new regional who assured me she was processing my refund and would get back to me, as of today's date I have not received the refund. I have sent emails to the rep and have received no response. I've spoken to him [redacted] in the phone a couple times and he also assured me he'd follow up but has not. I am looking to receive a full refund of $250 as promised via email and telephone.Desired Settlement: Full refund in the amount of $250 as promised via email and telephone.

Review: We moved into Century Hills Apartment on 12/28/2013 with the understanding we had a 12 month lease at $1209.00 per month. We paid a pro-rated amount of $168.00 for the additional 3 days of Dec with the understanding that our lease ran from Jan 1,2014 to Dec 31,2014. We just received a letter stating that our lease expires Nov.30, 2014.They have raised the rent by more then 15% and we have to give them a 60 notice if we do not renew the lease. We just found the letter on Sunday (10/5/14). It was not mailed or sent by any carrier. It was left in the apartment door. We went to the management office to speak to [redacted] on Sunday and were we told she wound not be in until Monday (10/6/14). We stopped Monday (10/6/14) and we were told that we were past the 60 days and there was no negotiation. We were also told they would not accept our letter stating that we were not renewing the lease because were past the 60 days. I sent a letter [redacted] overnight stating our intentions. They expect us to pay $1676.00 plus $300.00 month to month fee totaling $1976.00 in the month of Dec. I have read the reviews for Century Hills Apartments and I'm not the only one this is happening too. Thank you!Desired Settlement: We would like to be released from the 60 day notice.
