Century III Used Cars Reviews (1)

Review: I purchased a 2002 Dodge Neon from this business on October 3, 2014 for the amount of $2,717. This was the amount paid to Century 111 Used Cars by [redacted]. I also paid this dealer by check $862.50, which includes a down payment, sales tax on $2,717, and state fees for title transfer and registration. The total amount I owe on this vehicle is $4,363.68 due to having to finance the vehicle. I have a two year loan agreement. The problem is I do not believe the vehicle is going to last that long. Upon driving the vehicle on Saturday, October 4, 2014, the "check engine" light came on. I believe the auto dealer knew of this problem and reset the light. Once reset, the light will not come back on until after driving the vehicle for 25-50 miles. I went to see my mechanic he did a diagnostic test. Two different codes came up: 420 (catalytic converter) and 456 (Evap leak). The mechanic also told me that there is a brace on the frame that needs welded and if this is not done, the frame will crack and thus, the vehicle will be useless due to the fact the vehicle will not pass state inspection. All of the above issues are expensive to repair. Being a senior citizen, being on SSD, and working 16 hours a week, I do not have an abundance of money for repairs on a vehicle that I just purchased. I do honestly believe that the dealer knew of these issues and I feel that the vehicle should not have been sold with these problems, worst of all being the frame issue. I feel that he did not disclose these problems because, of course, he would not have been able to sell the vehicle. Granted, the vehicle was sold "as is", but this is not the way to deal with customers. I feel very cheated by this business.Desired Settlement: To resolve this matter, I would like the dealer to refund the $500 down payment so that I can use this to start repairs on the vehicle. If this is not feasible, I would like the dealer to offer me another vehicle that does not need immediate repairs in place of this one. Either of these resolutions would prove to me that the dealer is worthy of my or anyone else's business.
