Century Pools Reviews (2)

The reason [redacted] pool lost 2 feet of water in the winter is because instead of just draining the rain water off the cover he did too much and started draining the pool water down.  Once there is not enough water in the pool, when it rains or snow melts it gets into the ground (ground...

water) and if there is not enough water weight in the pool it then lifts the liner up creating a bubble in the pool with water under the liner.  Once the ground water receeds the bubble goes down and you are left with wrinkles.   [redacted] did not use our companies services to close his pool.  This does void the warranty on the underground plumbing.  I can not guarantee the underground plumbing unless my technicians close and winterize the pool.  I have no idea of what another company and their technicians would do or if they would do it properly.  At every one of our closings the customers are given extra instructions on how to care for their pool all winter long.  This is also given to all new pool customers as a general information sheet.  It did not take 4 months to install [redacted] pool.  If you count the time that it took to have a new property survey made up, because he did not have the proper one the township requires,  wait for the permits and get them approved by the township and then the install of the actual pool itself and then the time to wait for the dirt to settle before concrete is poured then you are closer to the 4 months but we can not be held accountable for the time it takes to get new surveys because he did not have the proper one, the time it took his township to approve the permits, and then settling time before the concrete.
We have never been dishonest.  We believe our workmanship was not poor in any way.
If it took [redacted] 8 weeks to clear up his water it was by no means Century Pools fault.  After and before concrete is poured around the pool the pool is very dirty and dusty from all the dirt around.  This takes time to clean up and get the water chemically balanced.  We explained to [redacted] several times how to properly vacuum.  When he could not grasp the concept correctly we offered him the opportunity to use our automatic vacuum cleaner.  It is a robot you place in the pool and let it go.  It will clean the entire pool for you.  It runs on a 3 hour cycle.  You empty the bag and place it back in the pool if need be.  [redacted] brought back this machine broken and dirty and unwilling to pay for or compensate Century Pools for it at all.  [redacted] turned the wrong valves out at his filtration system causing him to be unable to filter water properly.  We Century Pools sent out a technician to fix the issue and turn the valves back to their proper positions.  This was a service charge since [redacted] had been shown several times how to properly operated the system.  [redacted] never did pay the service fee of $75.  It was just to cover the cost of the gas and technicians to go out there.  Our truck has a team of 2 technicians.  [redacted] has a Chlorine Generator Machine.  This is a sensitive machine and if your water chemistry is not properly balanced the machine will not work properly.
[redacted] had the opportunity like all of our customers to read the contract in full prior to signing and agreeing to it.  We have not misled him in any way.
[redacted] has never complained to us about the installation of the pool.  I do not know what he is speaking of when he says the install need to be fixed.  The liner would not have gotten wrinkles in it if the water was not improperly drained out of it.  The pool has passed all of its required inspections.  The pool has been operational last season and it is up and running this season.

Who knew that selecting a pool company would be such a headache! We decided to begin our search the end of March and speak with a pool company that came out and gave us an initial meeting and was going to draw up some plans and get back to us in 2 weeks. Two weeks turned in to a month so we decided to reach out to Century Pools to come in and save the day. One of the owners came out and we explained to him the headache and un-professionalism we had with the other company and he agreed that is not how they operate and he would draw up some plans and get back to us in a week to 14 days. On that 14th day, we received a call to schedule an appt. to go over plans. My husband and I re-scheduled our day to make the appt. work and a few hours before, they cancelled on us because he was busy. We called back to reschedule and she told us we would set it up a week later and he would be there no matter what. A day before he was supposed to arrive, she called to cancel on us again. Reason stated 'we are too busy' and overbooked. I am extremely dissappointed in the lack of professionalism. They made us feel that our business is not important to them. I am glad we got to see this before we got into the construction phase.
