A Ford Taurus Wagon VIN# ***, was IMPOUNDED by the Walnut Grove Police Dept on June 7, 2017. A Certified Mail letter (Mo DOR form #***) was sent to *** *** *** *** *** ** - as per required by RSmo (Section 304.156, RSMo, states the
amount of the accrued towing, storage and administrative costs are the responsibility of the owner, and storage and/or administrative costs will continue to accrue as a legal liability of the owner until abandoned property is redeemedThe towing company claims a possessory lien for all such chargesYou as the owner or the lienholder may retake possession of the abandoned property at any time during business hours by proving ownership or rights to a secured interest and paying all towing and storage chargesYou must issue this notice to the owner and lienholder of record of the abandoned property via certified mailIf after days the property remains unredeemed, you may sell the property on a Bill of Sale (DOR-1957) to a scrap metal operator or licensed salvage dealer for destruction. You must submit a copy of the Bill of Sale (DOR-1957) to the Missouri Department of Revenue within two weeks of the sale. ) On 7/6/I received a phone call from *** *** claiming she had SOLD the car months earlier- the buyer never registered / titled the vehicleThe invoice for the tow/impound days of accrued storage was $She stated that the car was not worth that and she would pay a partial amount to recover the car, stating that "Something was better than nothing" - So We agreed to a time offer in compromise - that *** *** would pay a sum of $in cash by no later than 5pm 7/10/in return for possession of the vehicleBy 6pm 7/10/2017, No one had come to claim the vehicle. *** *** did contact us by phone the next day, wanting to renew our agreed offer in compromise and extend the date to the following Thursday, however I was not interested as she failed to meet our agreed terms once, and I felt that holding the vehicle any longer would not change anything other than increasing my expenses for the same outcome- I expressed that sentiment with *** ***. 7/12/The vehicle was sold as scrap (along with other vehicles) as the space in our small impound lot is at a premium. The filing of this complaint has no merit as we handled this situation lawfully, and went beyond what is required, by extending a opportunity for *** *** to reclaim the vehicle at cents on the dollar discount and she did not take advantage of that offer as agreedIt was not our fault that her vehicle was impounded, it was not our fault that we had to provide safe /secured storage for that vehicle for days, It was not our fault that she did not honor our agreementI have a business to run, and sometimes "Something IS better than Nothing" and It is my opinion, that holding this vehicle more day or another days would not have changed this outcome- other than my expenses- so I made the decision to cut my losses *** *** CEO PRO TOW llc

Springfield PD to move his vehicle after they issued a citation we charge $35 a day storage on every car that we impound he was not over charged mr. [redacted] is just upset because he got caught parking illegally. If mr. Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2016/07/30) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This complaint has nothing to due with illegal parking,The Spfld Police or my being upset. I called early Saturday 7/23 A.M. to find out when I could get my car out of impound and was told Monday. I was also told we run a two man shop and have got to get some rest sometime, however all of their advertising says 24/7 service. I wonder how many tow jobs they had on Saturday and Sunday or did Mr. Rained tell the customer they were closed to get some rest. I just want the same service without having my charges increased two more days ($70). Otherwise this is false adverting claiming 24/7 service.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2016/08/11) */
Mr [redacted] illegally parked his 2002 Honda Accord in a restricted area at the Springfield / Branson Regional Airport to avoid paying to park his vehicle. (Mr [redacted] bragged that he had never been caught before) Not only was it a restricted area, but was parked in a rental car service line in which inhibited Hertz rent a car from accessing their own cars for service. Springfield Police Dept was called and issued Mr [redacted] a citation for being illegally parked. Then we were contacted to remove the illegally parked vehicle from the premise.
It is our contention, that if Mr [redacted] has a objection to being charged for the consequences of his inconsiderate /illegal actions, he should discuss the situation with the Judge when he goes to court to pay his fine and consider paying for parking in the designated area at the airport during his next trip.
