Century 21 Beutler and Associates - Spokane

The most unprofessional, and reckless real estate company I have ever had to work worth. Ann B has been brash, unprofessional and unbelievably arrogant in her handling of her companies negligence with my recent real estate transaction. I moved to Idaho from California. I found a home on *** that I fell in love with and requested more information on the property. Chad M, a broker for Century 21 responded within 15 minutes, eager to help me purchase the home. I had my hands full selling my home in California (on my own as a single, widow, recently retired) and choreographing the out of state move with auto transports, furniture movers, and also aligning the escrows to close simultaneously. I had hoped Chad knew how to do his job, and Century 21 had the ethics and knowledge to assure a smooth transition. That was not the case. After driving 24 hours non stop with 2 dogs in the car from California to Idaho, I arrived at my new home where I met Chad M. As we walked through the home, I found numerous issues that were sited to be repaired and/or replaced on the RE10 form that had not been addressed. The French doors were rotted, and the only thing fixed of the repair list was a roof tile that was chipped and a carbon monoxide detector had been installed. Chad became visibly nervous as I walked through the house and made a phone call to tell the escrow rep to 'hurry up'. I was beyond exhausted, having now been up for 30 hours straight...signed all the documents once the escrow rep arrived, and then everyone left. That night I couldn't sleep due to the horrendous noise in the house from the boiler system. One of the biggest issues on the RE10 to be fixed was the heating system that was tagged repair/replace. The system groaned every 10 minutes with a sound so loud it could be heard from the street. I went into the master bathroom and found a letter left for me by the previous owner stating how much was wrong with the house. None of the items he cited were disclosed in his RE25. He boldly put in writing what he hadn't admitted on the RE25 but didn't seem to care. ....almost as if he knew something I didn't. Well he did. I brought the letter to Chad M's attention and he simply said...'What a douche'. I then asked him about the RE10 and why everything had not been fixed, and it was then that he admitted he never got it signed. The previous owner knew it had not been signed due to Chad M's negligence and Century 21 let it slip by. I signed it...but Chad never had the seller sign it. Because I was back in California, packing up my house, I was not able to be there for the inspection and had assumed Chad would be there to represent me.. Chad was not present to represent me during the inspection, however the previous owner was oddly present. So the owner did the inspection with the inspector, who was chosen by Chad M. The inspector, ***, immediately refunded my check for his services, realizing he had missed numerous problems with the house. Once this was all reported to Ann Buetler...who is supposedly representing me and my best interests, she offered no assistance. I have had to obtain an attorney and am pursuing legal recourse for negligence and errors and omission of real estate duties. Ann then offered a paltry monetary reimbursement that didn't even cover half of the issues missed by their inspector. I refused the offer and she then stated to my attorney they refused to mediate, and felt they had no responsibility for the issues cited and the missing RE10 that they failed to have signed. The most insulting part of this nightmare is Chad M had the audacity to message me and scold me for pursuing recourse stating...'You are making problems for me at Century 21, and you are taking food out of my children's mouths just to make your 25 year old house the way you want it'. Thats a quote. No, I actually just want the house that you told me I was purchasing, in the condition you told me it was in. Needless to say going to court to litigate this is an absolute. I am widowed, retired, and on disability and medicare. This house was supposed to be my nest egg. Now I simply have a nightmare on my hands and an all consuming legal battle. This office doesn't care about their clients....they make the deal, they close the deal, and then you are on your own. Regardless of negligence. They don't even deserve 1 star.
