Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:CertaPro's second response was nearly identical to their first responseIt did not address any of the points we had raisedOur
expectations were not unreasonable when the estimate we were given
states Grand Total: $This was the only estimate given to usI
attached this estimateI am also attaching the estimate that was given
to the paintersWe acquired this estimate last weekUnder no
circumstances were we ever given an estimate for the amount that
CertaPro claims the job wasWe did not receive the updated estimate
that the painters were given reflecting the cost. Not only was
the estimate we received misleading, we also purchased our own chair
railWe were told three times that the price would be adjusted
accordingly, and it was not.As far as the chair rail goes, nothing on our estimate states whether the amount was for the product and to install or just to installWe were never told to supply our own chair railIf that was the expectation from CertaPro, we should have been told and it should have been in writingHad we not bought our own chair rail, they would have had nothing to installThe painters did do an outstanding
jobThat seems to go unnoticed by CertaPro as the painters were never
paid for their workIt is quite discouraging that CertaPro conducts
business this wayFirst, by giving inaccurate estimates to the
customer, leading them to think the job costs much less only to turn
around and hit them with double the amountAnd second, by not paying
their workersThe bottom line is an estimate from a "reputable" company can not state "Grand Total" if the true amount is almost double what was stated on the estimate

I am rejecting this response because: Our expectations were not unreasonable when the estimate we were given states Grand Total: $454.75. This was the only estimate given to us. I attached this estimate. I am also attaching the estimate that was given to the painters. We acquired this estimate last week. Under no circumstances were we ever given an estimate for the amount that CertaPro claims the job was. We did not receive the updated estimate  that the painters were given reflecting the cost. Not only was the estimate we received misleading, we also purchased our own chair rail. We were told three times that the price would be adjusted accordingly, and it was not. The painters did do an outstanding job. Review: I arranged for Peter S with CertaPro Painters out of Toms River to come to my home and provide an estimate for work that I was to have done on my home. Upon completion of the consultation I was provided with a written estimate showing a "Grand Total" price and that turned out to be different then what the company ultimately looked to be paid upon completion of the job a few weeks back. The estimate was unclear as to the details I requested be added in and the price reflect such request. My wife and I have made several attempts to seek a resolution with CertaPro that would benefit both sides however, CertaPro has been both reluctant to respond and unwilling to admit a mistake in the way the estimate read therefore causing us to pay $370 over what we thought we were initially responsible for.Desired Settlement: We provided the material for a portion of the job for which we paid another party out of pocket for. We were charged a ridiculous fee for this company to cut, mount and paint what is honestly a few pieces of wood. We would like a FULL refund for the extra $370 we were asked to pay as a lesson to these folks that if they are unclear and misleading, more folks will have serious issues with the ethics in their work.

Review: I had this company do a job for me in a downstairs powder room. They charged me 700.00 which I paid in full. When I asked for an estimate on my master bath to paint it, during a renovation [redacted] stated that because I was a returning customer he would charge me 500.00. A week or two went by and I asked [redacted] to come take another look at the bathroom as there was a small area that needed spackle and tape and I wanted to keep my eye on the expenses so I asked him to take a second look just so I would not have any surprises. He came over and said 800.00. Now I had assumed that the price went from 500.00 to 800.00 due to the spackle and tape but I wanted that spelled out clearly so I emailed him and his answer was evasive. When I got the bill, it turns out he charged me 500.00 to paint and another 800.00 to spackle and mind you the spackle was only for one area of the bathroom where I had the tub surround removed and was going to tile. I feel that this practice was unethical. I tried several times to nail him down on the price. I could not imagine that the price would go up so high (being that he had told me he was giving me such a good price because I was a returning customer) if I knew it was going to cost all that I never would have agreed. His company tiled the floor and I have no problem with any of the other charges. Also, when his men put the shower trim in my shower stall it created a leak which I had to pay someone 300.00 to fix and diagnose as no one (the plumber) or Certa Pro would not admit it was their mistake. I got an independent plumber to come out at my expense. I have all the documentation.Desired Settlement: I I have paid certs pro 3000.00 for this job and do not feel that I should pay a cent more.
