We had popcorn stipple removed and our interior house painted. Our experience with *** and his crew was very positive. *** was great to work with he was always on time, always reachable, kept us up to date on progress, always left the immaculate at the end of each day and was always accepting for us to ask questions or provide feedback. We would certainly have *** back for any future projects and work strongly recommend him to friends and family.

We first hired CertaPro Painters in June of 2018. Our first experience with professional painters and we were not disappointed. They did very good work in the living, dining room and front entrance and kitchen. Also outside front and side doors along with the garage door. Very nice people and good quality work. We called CertaPro again in March 2019 to paint the master bedroom, walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom. Again very happy with the work. Will call them again, hopefully in 2020 to paint the downstairs rooms.

We hired CertaPro Painters in late 2019 to have popcorn ceiling removed from our second floor, select walls painted, and our banister and spindles on the stairs sanded and painted. We received quotes from four separate companies and despite being the most expensive, we chose to go with CertaPro based on a positive review from a colleague and the fact that they guaranteed the ability to secure scaffolding for the popcorn ceiling removal (an element that other companies were uncertain of). This is not our first time renovating a home, or the first time using an external provider, however, this was by far the worst experience, start to finish. The administrative side of the project was extremely disorganized, with the quote never accurately reflecting the job requested (requiring numerous back and forth conversations to get it right), the start date was changed without notice, and despite numerous attempts, they were unwilling to accommodate having both names on the contact (i.e. so both my husband and I could receive the emails while going back and forth on the incorrect details).
A week before the start date, we received an email indicating that they would start at 8am on the Monday and that we needed to be home for the first ten minutes. After 9am, no one had arrived. We called the office and were told to call the project manager ourselves. We did and he did not answer or return our call. They arrived shortly after 10am, at which time it became very apparent that they had no idea the scope of the project (expressing surprise at needing to paint the stairs, etc.). They hadn't brought the contract with them for the walkthrough and when pressed on what they came to do, they said they were there to take measurements to order the scaffolding. They came back just before 11am with the contract (which specifically states the need for scaffolding, included in the contract), at which time we indicated again that details were incorrect. Later that day, we received a call that the scaffolding was not available and they would have to start the next day instead. They arrived shortly before noon the second day, however that afternoon, we received a text message saying that they realized they didn't need scaffolding and would start using a ladder instead.
Things went downhill from that point on. We were concerned how the project would get done in a reasonable amount of time, given three days in, they were still in early stages on the ceiling, with the painting and stairway not yet started. We also pressed the owner for a revised contract to remove the rental of the scaffolding and he refused, initially indicating that they had comped the price because they "knew it would have been out of our budget" and then saying that they were renting from someone else for "only $250". Throughout the rest of the week, we contacted the owner and project manager to discuss ongoing issues - ceiling mud all over our floors, ceiling mud on walls that were not being painted, lights not re-installed properly, in addition to just general poor quality of the painting. At the end of the week, the ceiling was done, however the stairs had yet to be started. We agreed to extend into the following week with a hard deadline of the Thursday. Issues continued the following week and each time we tried to reach out to the project manager and owner, we were met with denial and resistance. For example, when we indicated that the railing and spindles had not been sanded, the *** denied it, suggesting that it had or that it didn't need to be. The next day, we asked the two men doing the work ourselves and they agreed that no, it had not been done fully. On Wednesday afternoon, we received a phone call telling us that they would not be able to finish by Thursday, the second deadline, as promised. Given this was early in the afternoon, we asked why they weren't working full days and suggested they come back to put in another few hours. They agreed to come back that evening, however never showed up. The next day, they came and we ended up working with them well into the night. As we had suggested was our concern to the owner on more than one occasion, the job was extremely rushed and resulted in incredibly poor quality, with us calling it a night just before 11pm, noting that we had previously indicated that we had to leave for an out of town engagement early the following morning and had a different contract lined up to install new carpet the following week - necessitating the need to stay on the extended deadline.
The next morning, we identified numerous issues related to the quality - significant runs in the paint on the majority of the spindles, a number of areas where there was either minimal or no coverage of paint on both the spindles and banister, and paint splatters on the floor, our windows (and window film, now needing to be replaced), trim and ceiling. We tied yet again to reach out to the owner, discussing the quality control issues, as well as the issue around the quote including scaffolding. At this time, the owner clearly indicated that due to the length of time required and number of coats of paint, he would not be changing the quote.
We have since paid the bill as dealing with the *** was completely impossible (in fact, after suggesting we received high quality, we sent photos of a number of the issues and he has yet to respond). In previous discussions with the ***, they repeatedly offered up reminders of the two year warranty. However, we simply cannot justify having this company in our home again. We are not willing to risk more damage being done nor can we afford to continue missing work to be here and have them show up quite late or not at all. It is for this reason that we have since hired another company to come in and fix the issues, at an additional cost to us. This company reaffirmed the numerous concerns we voiced throughout and after the completion of the project - that the railing and spindles had not been sanded properly, that there was not full coverage of the paint, and that it just generally appeared very unprofessional. We have also since learned that the positive review we had heard was from over a year ago, when the company was under different ownership.
Having undertaken a number of home renovations, we appreciate that things can sometimes take longer than expected. We also understand the need for changes in the scope of a project and associated cost. What we do not accept is complete dishonesty, unprofessionalism, and a poor quality job at a premium cost. We hope that writing this review will force this company to re-evaluate how it treats customers.

I hired Certapro to paint my house back in 2018, although the person they sent was very kind and polite he rushed through his paint job and the result
I hired Certapro to paint my house back in August 10, 2018 (main floor, staircase, second level hallway, all doors and powder room); I was told that the job was going to take two days, to my surprise the painter rush through it and finished in one day. The next few days when I proceeded to clean my house after the painting I found specks of paint all over the floors, even on one of my chairs, there were paint stains on my stairs and in the grout of my newly installed porcelain floor and the powder room paint was very messy, I think I could have done a better job. I contacted Certapro and requested to have somebody come to my place and see it for themselves so it could be fixed as soon as possible. I also requested a different painter. They were very polite and apologetic at Certapro and sent *** who took pictures and assured me that it would be fixed that they would send a good painter and make sure he knew what he had to do.
Sometime the week of September 13th they sent a new painter (***). *** told me that he knew what to do and that he would be waiting for me at my place at the end of the day to go through the repairs. I left earlier that day to make sure to be home before 5:00 pm. Again to my surprise the painter had been gone long before I got back home. I wasn't expecting to find the same kind of messy work done the second time around. Not only was he gone, I also found that he left some unfinished work, and a mess of his own.
Below is a list of issues:
Hardware wasn't removed from the doors before painting
Trim in front door is messy, completely unacceptable if it was done by a "professional"
Paint spilled on window sill and outside chair
Paint smudge in door knob
Runny paint everywhere
Not everything needing fixing was fixed
There still white paint on the step
I contacted Certapro again and express my disappointment; I sent pictures so they could see by themselves the mess left behind. I let them know that when I contracted Certapro I was expecting to get professional painters (as they advertise) and that I should have retained the payment until the job was deliver up to standard and that I expected Certapro to do something about this and adjust the price accordingly. $2,600 ( paid via ***) is a lot of money and the job done at my house certainly doesn't reflect that amount of money.
From that moment on they just didn't answer my calls or emails. I requested to talk to the owner of the company with no success at all. I called and wrote emails consistently for a while and I'm still waiting for Certapro to call me back with a solution.

To this day I still find new paint messes in my house left by Certapro. They conducted themselves in a non-professional and irresponsible way and I would like my money back. I recently sold my house and had to fix the mess left by this company.

I contacted them again via email on May 13, 2019.

It is true, you offered to send your crew once more (a third time), *** even told me that this time you would send your best painter, but I expected to get the best painter the first time because that was the service I contracted for the amount of $2.600. I accepted to have your company come back to my house and fix the pain job but the experience was even worse, the person you sent the second time left a bigger mess, none of my concerns were addressed and on top of that both times, I had damage to my furniture and floors. I work very hard to earn my money and the service you provided is not worth $2.600, furthermore you had the opportunity to make it right and only made it worse. For that reason I'm requesting for you to return $1.300 in order to compensate me for the bad experience.

I would also like to say that I'm very disappointed at your customer service. You treated me with disrespect by not answering my calls or email.

But after the first concern on touch-ups, which were duly addressed, we were neither allowed a review meeting nor photo evidence detailing purported damage to furniture and floors. Hard to believe, that a company treat their clients with very little respect as Certapro is doing it with me, no wonder your employees don't take pride on doing a good job.

Such email was never responded, for this reason I proceeded to resend the email to *** on Sep 18, 2018, 9:39 AM - I'll be sending this emails shortly to your company and will be copying the ***. I called countless times nobody responded to my calls. There hasn't been a resolution for lack of interest on Certapro's part

Please treat your customers with respect. I gave you the opportunity to fix it once and you didn't deliver. My request for the money stands

Very pleased with our projects. Painter was a perfectionist and applied many coats to get it "just right". Polite. Professional. Clean. Very good price. What more could I ask for? Have already recommended them to a friend of mine!

CertaPro painted/stained the interior/exterior of our house. They were professional, efficient & cleaned up well. At the year 2 inspection we noticed some peeling on the exterior. We waited another year to see if it persisted. In year 3 (2-year warranty) it continued & despite being told by CertaPro that it was likely due to the surface not being dry when they did the job, we agreed to pay for the repairs/redo over the specific areas.
We got a quote & called to schedule the work & were told they would not do it, ending all communications. We called *** & were told (2x's) that the franchisee and/or regional manager would contact us. We heard nothing. We told them we agreed to pay & were NOT contesting the warranty.
They were happy to take the initial business but the follow-on & dropping the ball on the "paid repairs" is not acceptable, unprofessional & confusing. It appears the*** do not care about the performance of their franchisees & have no interest in resolving.

After buying our new home we wanted to see what it would cost to paint the whole place. Our initial consultation with *** was so informative and helpful that we decided to move forward and we could not be happier.

*** and hide amazing paint crew made the process effortless. They recommended a color consultant who worked with us to pick a palette that we absolutely love. The painting team were professional, tidy and super responsive to our questions.

Adding to the amazing job they did, we also had a very tight timeline, with multiple contractors coming by all day. The crew had to patch a bunch of holes from our electrician, and remove our blinds to paint. They moved items that I was supposed to without any complaint and even gave me tips on how to paint the laundry room (the only room I was willing to do myself).

I am extremely satisfied with the service and would absolutely use CertaPRO again, and recommend them to anyone.
