Bought a car for my daughter and they were super nice and helpful.

Horrible company! 3 days after purchasing vehicle, transmission going out and they will not fix or help. [redacted] threw the phone when requested help. The entire office is the most unprofessional people I have ever encountered. Refused to provide owners contact info.

I was purchasing a car from Certified Auto Dealers. Staff at the Madison Ave. location are very unprofessional when I asked about a specific issue with the car I was told that it was not covered on the warranty that I purchased, but that they would fix the vehicle or allow me to buy parts for the vehicle at their cost. This never happened as every time I tried to discuss this with them there was always another reason that they could not help. It was usually that they had many vehicles in the shop and could not get it in. I was told when I bought the car that I could "trade up" when I asked about this I was told that a trade up on that vehicle would be impossible. The reason I was told was its mechanical condition. I had to perform several hundred dollars worth of work on the car in the first several months to keep it running. I admit that I was slow at paying and was not the best customer however, it seemed that they had unloaded a lemon on me and they knew that. They kept it running just to sell it and to avoid the state lemon law or so it seems. The car had been repossessed at one point. When I was able to pick the car up they were preparing to place it on the lot for sale! That day within an one hour the vehicle broke down again. I was able to take it back and one of the mechanics did, on his own time, looked at the car. He told me that the car needed in his words "work" and it always had. I asked again about a trade up they refused. They told me that they would never place a vehicle for sale that was not in good condition, however had someone gotten the car that day they would have. In the end the repair costs of the vehicle became prohibitive, I was paying $300.00 a month for a car that did not even start. I attempted to get them to come get the car, they said that I could not voluntary turn it in because I was behind on it and they would repo the car. I told them that was what I wanted. They sent [redacted] Towing, as Certified is unprofessional so was [redacted]. They drove through my neighbors yard and spoke very horribly to my girlfriend, frightening her and her daughter causing undue drama. she gave them the key. She asked the not to drive through the yard and the cursed at her! The owner of the tow company stated to me via phone that he had not "said anything out of the way to her." That the person with him was from Certified and "he was the one running his mouth at her." I was not there I do not know who was saying the things I heard over the phone, but I am sure that if the other man was from Certified he should know that the female he was dealing with was not the male customer that had the contract with the them. The have no kind of customer service skills at Certified Auto and are very shady in the way they do business.
