Review: I was interested in a vehicle [redacted] at Certified Auto had for sale. After asking for any and all information previous and current on the vehicle, I was informed that the back right quarter panel had been replaced along with the back right door. Due to a "small fender bender" the car had previously been involved in. [redacted] would not produce proper car fax for the vehicle, his reason being that car fax is a private entity and is not a legal requirement. I was under the impression I was purchasing a vehicle that had not been in any serious wrecks prior to me purchasing. I financed the vehicle and got full coverage insurance. After two months and $600 out of my pocket in repairs to the car, I received the title to the vehicle in the mail after registering at the city court house. At this time I discovered the vehicle I had purchased had a salvaged title and had been reported as a "total loss." Which was information that was not disclosed to me prior to or at time of purchase. Had I known it had a salvaged title I would have never purchased the vehicle. I returned to [redacted] to discuss the situation and give him the opportunity to take the vehicle and give me what I paid him for it and he refused. I approached [redacted] in a calm manner and was treated very rudely. Mr. [redacted] made it clear that he was aware of the title being salvaged before the sale was made. However did not disclose this knowledge until this visit. [redacted] stated that I "could make him an offer and he would consider it." Although it would not be an offer even close to what I paid him for the vehicle, because of the salvaged title it is not even worth half. Had this information been disclosed before the time of purchase, I would not have been able to receive the loan or insurance coverage I currently have on the vehicle.Desired Settlement: The outcome I desire for this situation would be to get the NADA book value for the vehicle I purchased refunded to me in full. At the time of the purchase I was under the impression the vehicle was worth that amount, I feel it's only fair I am reimbursed that amount.
