Review: March 2015 - I took my Bass Boat to Certified Automotive and Marine. I had previously used Certified Automotive and Marine and felt confident that Mr. [redacted] was capable of the work I was requesting, a top end motor rebuild (pistons, rings, rods, barrings). Mr. [redacted] put the motor in his tank and ran it. Mr. [redacted] stated he could do the work and said it would take approximately 2 months and I paid the estimated cost for the repair and was given a receipt.
June 2015 - I received a call from Mr. [redacted] that the boat was ready for pick-up. The next day, I took the boat out on the water and it ran for about 6 minutes before it stopped running. I called Mr. [redacted] to notify him of the problem and returned the boat to the shop the following day. September 2015 - Mr. [redacted] called and stated that he was going to take the boat out on the water for a test run. He called and stated there were still issues with the motor and he would be in touch.
I have called Mr. [redacted] on several occasions to get an estimated time of completion. I've made numerous phone calls and visits to the shop. My boat remains in the back of the shop uncovered and unprotected from the rain / weather conditions and no evidence of it being worked on. When visiting the shop, my boat is in the same spot - no visual evidence of it being worked on.
Two weeks ago, I made a visit to the shop with two friends check on boat and / or pick it up to take it to another Marine shop. Mr. [redacted] assured me that he would be getting it done within the week.
Today, January 27, 2016, I received a call from Mr. [redacted] stating that I could pick up my boat trailer but the motor is still not running. I asked him when it would be ready, he said he doesn't know.
As a result of the delayed repair, I have missed a season of fishing / youth fishing tournaments which Mr. [redacted] is aware of.Desired Settlement: My desire is to have my boat back in full running condition with a full warranty. If that is not possible, I want a full refund or replacement.
