Review: This is not just a bait and switch advertisement problem, I just chose the first option that was appropriate. There are many problems. The company used a bait and switch estimate, that by the time of billing ballooned from $2900 to over $5000 just as we finished an I was about to leave for the airport. The company also guaranteed me that they would pack ship and deliver all using their company, but by the time they completed the move they had used three other companies to do so. They assured me that they would be careful with my things, but they were professional movers and had done this many times before. Upon delivery many of my things were broken and damaged. My contact at the company continuously renegotiated his agreements with me after the fact, this was exacerbated by the fact that they had my things and they could do whatever they wanted with them. Additionally every time I spoke with my contact at the company he acted in an un-courteous, rude and unprofessional way; it was tough to get answers out of them without it breaking down into yelling. The contract that we signed is not valid whatsoever. He never offered me insurance of any kind, which I believe is illegal on his part. The only signature that's on the actual contract is mine, which appears on the coinsurance part of the contract nowhere else. The two parties that actually delivered my things, or attempted to, called me directly without me having any idea who they were. When I asked my contact at the company what was going on he said "you need to work with us," to which I replied in a lengthy email back to him detailing the entire history of our business transaction thus far. The way that they packed my things damaged several of the items in transit, this was made worse by the fact that they had transferred my belongings so many times after the fact, and after they told me that they would be the sole company in charge of moving my belongings. By the time that I was dealing with 5th party movers I assume that some of my things were damaged in the moves out of my apartment, in and out of trucks, in and out of warehouses, and finally into my apartment, mostly by people with whom I was not aware I was doing business with, it's my belief that my things were exposed to damage in a way that they would not have been had the original agreement been honored. Right now my things are in my apartment, but it's very hard to get settled because several things have been broken or damaged into lingering bitter taste of being taken advantage of still lingers. I felt like I was used. What I would like to see is that this company be exposed for the unethical business practices they employed, so this kind of thing never happens to another person again.
