invoice number [redacted]Overpriced for labour cost $ 235.00Overpriced for material $ 196.00Business employee/ owner stated $97.00 per hourHouse call was from 8:10 Am to 9:50 AM on August 26 2014 - The worker's name was [redacted]. This call was less that 2 hours including the time ( more that half an hour) he took to go back to the shop to grab a thermostat that he didn't have on his truck. Business also charged $196.00 for a Thermostat [redacted] ([redacted]) that the average canadian price is approx $100.00 or lower. After making the cheque the employee/owner stated that his hourly rate was $97.00 per hour and left right away. [redacted]Desired SettlementWe need a refund from this company who reflect the actual cost of this home call including the right time and rate + a more decent price for the thermostat. [redacted] Business Response Call was placed by customer and service call was booked for Aug 26/14. Complaint from customer was their [redacted] furnace was not working, service tech arrived on site at 8:10am checked and serviced furnace found out problem was with the thermostat, tech then had to drive to suppliers to purchase 2 stage thermostat, tech returned installed new thermostat cleaned up and requested payment. Our service rates are as follows:First 1/2 hour on site $ 94.00every additional hour is $94.00This call was billed correctly as per techs in and out times, which the customer will see on their white copy that they received before tech left the property.Material charge is correct as the thermostat that the customer is referring to in their letter is for a single stage thermostat. The thermostat that required for replacement to match the existing is a 2 stage thermostat.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The tech came at 8:10 Am if you add 1/2 hour the time is 8:40. The left hour time was 1 hour 10 minutes. Consequently $94 + $94 + $15.50 (for the 10 minutes).Total should be $203. Also the phase 2 thermostat was overpriced (you can make the research for the exact same model)... and we have also to pay the time (and gas cost $10.00) for the tech to take one at the shop. [redacted] Final Business Response Our service tech's are very well prepared for the calls they are sent on. Our service vehicles average a $5000 inventory in each vehicle. In saying that there are times that they run into a situation where they may not have a specific part to complete a call in which then they are required to leave and pick up parts required as in this case.If the customer had concerns about this call why did they not raise their concerns at the time of making payment for the work done or contact our office before going to the Revdex.com? We at that time would have explained to them that we have set prices that product is sold for. These prices on a whole are competitive in the service industry market.I am sure that with any retail product if you shop long enough you may find lower pricing. Upon reviewing the invoice as charged as agreed to by the customer as they paid the invoice in full at the time of the service call and that the pricing is correct. There will not be a refund forwarded.
