Review: I hire this company to do some work in my basement and fix water leakage from my patio door and window next to patio. As per contract company gave me 2 estimates, one to finish basement work and another estimate to fix water entry from patio and window. This work was done last year in August 2012 and I paid contractor based on negotiated rate and wrote check for $659.30 on August 27,2012. Immediately after this repair heavy rain came and water started coming from patio door and window so I contacted this contractor to take a look at this repair and communicated through phone calls/ texts messages and emails. On 10/24/2012, I wrote email and I got reply back from contractor that I didn't let him do repair based on his suggestion (Don't understand why would I say no to fix the problem when I am paying someone to fix problem based on his recommendation). After couple of emails, this contractor came back in November 2012 and again fixed the water leakage and mentioned to me that he forget to caulk one hole and it was his mistake not to caulk hole at first place. After winter, when rain started again in April 2013, water started coming from patio door and window so I contacted contractor again and it's been 4 months now trying to get hold of this contractor so he can fix root cause.When this contractor estimated work he mentioned that he need to remove all siding next to patio and window to fix the issue and this will take 2-3 days and charges are based on 2-3 days of work but when he worked on issue he simply caulk the opening without tearing siding and today contractor is saying that I didn't took his recommendation to take siding down to find root cause.Is this is how these contractors ripe their customers. I have all emails communications and txt messages and contractor estimates and copy of payments.Desired Settlement: I am asking this contractor to either refund me money I paid him so I can get another contractor to resolve this issue or fix this issue immediately with no delays as this is causing water flooding in my family room.

First, we would like to state that at no point was the customer refused service. In fact, our company usually charges a $75 service fee in order to visit the property and preform any necessary warranty work and that fee was not charged to Mr. [redacted] upon our first revisit to the property at some point last year.

We offered to visit again as soon as he contacted us earlier this week about the problem, but he threatened with litigation and made no effort to schedule an appointment. We reiterated that the issue he was having more than likely comes from poorly installed siding (something we had nothing to do with and which had already cased damage to the home before we were even reached out to by the homeowner) and that our service representative recommend at the time of service that he stripe the siding on that part of the home off in order to locate the leak, since it is the best way to know for sure what is causing it and where it's coming from. However, this would have come with an increase in cost.

[redacted] declined because he believed it would be too much money, so we did our best to insulate the siding along the patio door/window by removing only the surrounding siding, as indicated in the contract. A metal stripe was then installed to carry water away from the door, the siding was replaced and then the entire thing was sealed. The same was done to the window. The work fixed the issue not only in his patio door, but also in his window which was not even listed on the contract but that he insisted we include in return for future work.
