Ch Enterprises Auto Reviews (1)

What follows is a summation of my interaction with this client, his claims against me, and my rebuttals. It is regrettable that [redacted] has changed his mind and no longer wants this truck, but I am not in the business of taking cars back, especially for reasons that are wholly unsubstantiated.
This...

transaction started normally, just like my usual transactions over the past 6 years. [redacted] decided to purchase the truck after reviewing the photos and details of the truck online and talking about it with me on the phone. I promptly sent him a purchase order and sale documents for signing and returning, which were written up under [redacted]’s name, after which he informed me that he wanted the paperwork under his business’s name, instead. This was not a problem, and I re-issued the purchase order and documents right away. Unfortunately, the title did end up with a mileage error on it, which was caused by a processing oversight by Big Sky Auto, the titling company who handles the trucks that I sell. Since the car was originally from Canada, the mileage was shown in kilometers rather than miles. This means that the original mileage of 59,445 km should have been converted to the correct reading of 36,938 mi. Unfortunately, Big Sky forgot to convert the numbers and incorrectly changed only the “km” to “mi,” resulting in what looked to be a mileage other than what I had advertised. I explained this to [redacted], apologized for the error, and assured him I would get a new title issued ASAP. I contacted Big Sky and they were able to get a new title issued within an impressive 4 working days. The documents and title were both corrected before [redacted] received the truck, and I sent him a photo of the new title on the 22nd of November, which showed the correct 36,938 actual miles. [redacted] responded “Great” in regards to the new title and said “let’s get it shipped.” At that point, the Washington Trust Bank loan representative Greg Hoagland requested that I send the title directly to him, and that is what I did.
After [redacted] received the transportation of the truck, for which I covered all costs as part of a promotional deal my company had at the time, [redacted]’s interaction with me drastically changed. Before explaining any concerns he had about the vehicle, [redacted] began to send me threatening messages. Once I inquired about the nature of the threats, [redacted] began to detail – for lack of a better word – bizarre claims. He claimed the truck had been in multiple accidents and that the truck had entirely the wrong engine in it. As the person who purchased and prepared this truck for sale, I am certain his claims are categorically untrue but also surprising. I am entirely unsure where his unfounded suspicions come from. Of course, I explained to [redacted] that the engine is the exact 5.3L engine as described and reminded him that the Carfax report shows a clean and clear title with no accidents. What [redacted] is correct about is that the truck has a brand new paint job, which I do for the majority of my cars since the process really adds an extra final touch to a product that I’m already proud of. It’s also important to note that the truck he bought is 10-years-old, was government owned, and is a 4x4 off-road work truck which would have scratches, dings, dents, and other general wear and tear, so a fresh paint job simply makes good business sense and is not something I try to hide. Beyond this, [redacted] now claims that the truck arrived dirty, which is a claim I’ve never received before, but also not entirely unlikely when a car is shipped across two states.
Finally, because we are committed to providing excellent service and delivering excellent products to all buyers, we offer to take additional photos and we welcome every buyer to have the vehicle inspected prior to purchasing. Please see attached for all evidence of my claims, including a copy of the Carfax, sale documents, and a few photos of our text conversations to show how the transaction evolved in the end. Please advise if any other documentation or information would be helpful. Thank you for your time.
