My name is Rick ***I have been a Chainsaw Artist for over yearsMy wife and now my two sons also have joined my Self-Employed Carving BusinessWe are very proud of our accomplishments and always try to treat our customers with the utmost respect and got he extra mile to ensure they are
happy with our Artwork as they take our Sculptures hometo enjoy.Once in a while, we do run across a customer who is not happy no matter what we try to do for themI am very surprised to receive your letter from the Revdex.comThis has never happened before and I'm at a loss of what to do.The only thing I can think of is to try and explain my side of the situation to you and maybe you can help us figure out what is nextAttached is the timeline.I understand that this project did take a long timeBut the customer ordered a carving from a picture on my website for an agreed upon price of $There's only so much you can do with a log and a chainsawThat being said, I do try to the best of my ability to create Sculptures that I can feel good about charging a customer money forI'm always striving to get better with practice and patience as the years go byBut I need to provide for my family alsoThere's a lot that goes into creating a wood carvingSometimes the wood dictates,and will completely change the direction I'm trying to achieveI try to explain what canand can't be done with customers knowing that their opinions matter but sometimes I need to change details because the wood grain strength as well as colors need to be addressedI've been working with wood for over years and I know what is needed to create and preserve a piece so that it can be worth the money and last many yearsI'm not out to hurtanyoneI try to do my best work for every customerI feel awful that *** is dissatisfiedHe told me I had free artistic choice to create this Sculpture for himI kept him posted with pictures and received praise along the wayThen he became unhappy and it went downhill from thereI received a phone call from another wood carver who said*** had called them to see if they could re-carve the face of the Indian I carvedThey said he was irate and told him my name and wanted to know what to doI was shocked with the call and told them everything I had tried to do to make *** happyI had confirmation from *** to go ahead and schedule shippingI charged his card, spent days constructing a wooden crate to ship a T Carved Indian and scheduled shipping and the shipping company charged our card as paymentIt was picked up in our driveway 6/26/and is on it's way to Illinois just like he saidThen we received your letter.Once you put finish on a piece and it's carved, it's hard to go back and make changesAlso at his time I had to go in for surgery on my knee, I tore my ACL and have been on crutchesI haven't been able to walk let alone carveI did my best to stay in touch with ***through this whole processWhen it was done he said he liked itNow all of a sudden he's changed his mind and it's on the way to himI will keep the record of all the texting with photos so if I need to copy and print them off, I would be happy to.Thank you,Rick ***
