I am rejecting this response because:at the end of the day we can go back and forthWhats funny is another car on yelp went to this same shop with the same wants and ended up having the same problems im havingIve owned this car for yearsBefore I came to them I did good on my gas especially on the freeway but now not only does my car stop here and ther whuch has never happend until day after they fixedMy belts,my car has never made the noises it does funny thing its in the area where they did the tuneupI cant believe you guys are lying about the check engine light situation, but I guessAnd no im not trying to get out of paying anything I just trusted you guys I should of known when u guys knew that yall have superb autos old numberIts also crazy that when my velts were getting tightened the second time his son opened my gas tankI still dont know what for on top of him being rudeAnd its not cool to throw out accusations and lies, but I wouldnt be surprised if another person doesnt cone up on here with the same problemsJust like me and the previous guyYou got dollars out of me that I have to chalk but lost a customer that would of stayed loyal customerI wish I would have yelped the business beforeI walked out there office

Customer called in on Friday requesting major tune up and to remove and replace all beltsWhen the customer came to the auto shop, the vehicle already had the check engine light on.Which customer also agrees We told the customer about it, and we checked to see how many codes the vehicle
hadThe vehicle had codes and documented it in the work order and customers still declined diagnostic and requested for major tune up, remove and replace all belts, and oil changeWe have everything documented on what repairs we did and exactly what the customer has told usAs for the removal of the intake to remove and replace the spark plugs that is not necessary in this vehicle, the other mechanic who told him intake needs to be remove to do tune up does not know at all what he is taking about, yes for some models you definitely do but NOT for this modelThis customer wanted tune which she did need and belts, but definitely diagnostic for codes and is in writing on her invoice, written proofs can be checked if needed We explain her that discounts will be giving for diagnostic of codes .All is documented and work perfumed as requested cannot be refundedBut she told us she does not to do that but wants to sell her car and her boyfriend agreed with the shop that all tune up and repairs requested was done properlyShe wanted to resolve her check engine light the cheap way but unfortunately did not listen to the shop and insisted to do tune up and declined diagnostic. We advise all customers to do diagnostic first if check engine light is on due to lack of knowledge and misguide by friends and some “machinics”that they only need gas cap, tune up etc .PLEASE all of you out there listen to the garages and ALWAYS do a diagnostic before forcing the shops to do a tune etc.We still value her as o good customer but misguided by others to save moneyWe still have our doors open to give her a huge discount in her diagnostic but knowing the number of codes repairs won’t be cheap and she knows it very well tooWish her all the best in fixing her car.Challenege Motor

I am rejecting this response because: because I called asking for a major tune up and the belts to be replacedThey never seen my car or asked meto come inWhen I got there that morning he said he already had my parts in which I never checked., previously before I came there I had only one code come up on my check engine and it was for a sensory problem ONLYWhen I came and brought my car they never started it up in my presence or did they even move my car while I was there.the wife only got my mileage and that doesnt require my car being startedThe only call I recieved was when my car was doneWhen I arrived thats when he told me he ran the check engine AFTER he had completed the work I asked for and that I had codes that popped up but he had cleared them and for me to drive miles and if it comes back on to come backWhen I came back it was the plus the one I had already known aboutWhen I brought my boyfriend my boyfriend just agreed because his son was being rude and unprofessional and so it was best we leave.if it wasnt wise for me to do the tuneup why didnt they call me and tell me not to do it?instead of taking my money also telling me to get their oil change in which I purchased alsoBad part about it they have superb autos old number and never even corrected me on that also that they were not themyes they offered to do my diagnoistic For a discount only if I let them fix my car ontop of him trying to sell me his car

I once again would like to inform that codes were present when she came in and they are not related to tune up changing spark plugs and wires and doing oil change .It is in writing in her invoiceShe is welcome to take it to another shop and get a diagnostic done and I can assure her that they are not related to tune up or any work we did.She also admits in her statement the check engine light was on and it is written on her invoice before she want away, and said she will come back after driving miles to see which codes will come back. The vehicle from sitting down for long period of time and more codes or sensors could go bad.My shop wants return customers and we want to give good service , We welcome her to come and talk and get the vehicle diagnosis done at a reduce price that's all I can offer.I will like a third opinion on the codes, is it related to tune, changing spark plugs and oil change or is it due to age and mileage that the vehicle needs repair and maintenanceOnce again she was aware of check engine light and still wanted tune up to save diagnostic fee and get it right, she is just trying not to pay diagnostic fee when she knows very very well that it will cost a lot.She said she definitely needs tune tune which she has not done for very long timeIn deed the wires and plugs were in very bad shape. All the best fixing your car

I really appreciate that Revdex.com would like to here my side of story in order to make a good judgement and properly revolve this matter. We have a family business  and self employed and we  treat our customers importantly and fairly in order to stay in business .[redacted] like many other buy...

and sale cars from auctions trying to make some quick bucks. Unfortunately Volvo S80 was not one of the good car to make some quick bucks. He bought this vehicle in auction and drove straight to my shop because check engine light was on and vehicle was not running right it was misfiring and running rough.[redacted] came to my shop and requested to perform a basic tune up which is to replace spark plugs. He told me the whole story that he bought the car from auction and drove straight to my shop because it is not running right. We told him that he needs a diagnostic not a tune up. He insisted that he knows what is wrong with the car and the car salesman told him he needs only ONE  PLUG.....ha ha ha what a joke. We told him that he definitely needs diagnostic for running rough, but unfortunately he trusted the car salesman and said he knows his car and his Dad is a mechanic and requested to change spark plugs only and save his diagnostic fee so he makes more profit and buying and selling cars.So he signs an estimate for replacing spark plugs only and goes away. As soon as he walks away we started the car and found it running very rough and check engine light on we quickly scanned  for codes and found 4  CODES  yes 4     we  called him immediately to come back and he definitely needs diagnostic and had five codes . He was just near my shop so he came back in 2 minutes. We showed him the five codes and told him he needs diagnostic but unfortunately  he was oddment  and made up his mind and brain washed by car salesman that he only need to change spark plus and was not going to spend $180 doing diagnostic on 5 codes . We informed him that the codes will come back after clearing the codes and [redacted] said that he will deal with it when it comes on . He came and picked up the car after the spark plugs were repaired and codes cleared. I was surprise  that he has file a report and was misinformed by salesman and some technician  but  we did not  disconnect any sensors ,if any was could been from auction place it happens people disconnect senors to deter others from buying the vehicle and there is unhealthy competition at auction place always. [redacted] is very much misinformed and misguided in all this.He should have came to me for diagnostic when the check engine light came on . Would have ALL the diagnostic fee waived off  when he would have done repairs at our shop.We would have save him time, money and given him good honest service like we always did.   We did try to explain him but  but unfortunately he had a bad buy.Definitely no refunds I hope your department  do have a better picture in resolving [redacted]'s concern. Customers mean lot to us we have a family business and we want to give good honest service to our valuable customersPlease do no hesitate to contact us should you require any further information.CHALLENGE MOTOR

And its not cool to throw out accusations and lies, but I wouldnt be surprised if another person doesnt cone up on here with the same problems. Just like me and the previous guy. Review: I made an appointment on Friday for them to do a major tune-up and to replace my serpentine belts in my 2000 Infiniti truck. when I arrived at their establishment the guy had told me he already had my parts and for me to talk to his wife. I ended up getting a oil change also. I left my car around 9am, also my check engine light was already on when for a sensory problem I previously knew about that was the only code that was popping up before I took it there. around 1pm they called and told me my car was done. When I arrived the guy told me that 5 codes had popped up, he instructed me that he cleared the codes and to drive for 200 miles and see if the check engine will pop up again and come back so we can see what codes pop up again. well as soon as I started the car the light was on he then cleared it again. later that evening my car was making a weird sound, that my car never made then I turned while driving home from work and my car stopped. The next morning I went back, told them the issue they told me my serpentine belts needed to be tightened. he loosen the gas cap before he tighten them. then sent me on my way. on Saturday I went to another mechanic to get my breaks done and told him about the codes, as he lifts the hood where the pressure cylinoid is its making a loud sound I never heard. And he says the area where the tuneup was done looked as if the same parts were put back on my car. I took the car back that Monday told him what was my other mechanic told me, this time I had my boyfriend with me so the story by the guy changed and he kept making it seem like I just bought the car but I've had my car for a year now which was smogged last year and passed. He kept trying to say I bought a bad car and lied and said that he told me I had 5 codes before he did the tune up.which was a lie.then he t0old me he has a special tool that they use so that he doesn't have to open the top as he pulling hoses out my car.Desired Settlement: after reading a review on yelp for the same place and seeing that the guy went and got the same thing done. and his car ended up giving him the same problems if not more. I want my car fixed if not my money back for the tune up because I left having more problems and my car making weird sound that it still makes and now I have a gas smell every time I start my car. They took advantage of me because I was a female they thought I didn't know nothing about my car.

We explain her that discounts will be giving for diagnostic of 5 codes .All is documented and work perfumed as requested cannot be refunded. But she told us she does not to do that but wants to sell her car and her boyfriend agreed with the shop that all tune up and repairs requested was done properly. She wanted to resolve her check engine light the cheap way but unfortunately did not listen to the shop and insisted to do tune up and declined diagnostic. We advise all customers to do diagnostic first if check engine light is on due to lack of knowledge and misguide by friends and some “machinics”that they only need gas cap, tune up etc .PLEASE all of you out there listen to the garages and ALWAYS do a diagnostic before forcing the shops to do a tune etc.We still value her as o good customer but misguided by others to save money. The best thing to do is literally stop yourself from going to Challenge Motors. They have horrible customer service and very poor job done on everything. False advertising as well. I actually read the other two complaints on here as well and I totally have sides on them, Challenge Motors definitely lie their business. I will get with the other two on this and make sure we can take better action to get our rights!

Review: Bought a 2002 [redacted] S80 March 7,2015 at the Alameda County Auction at 9:45am. When I purchased the vehicle it only needed the #3 spark plug changed, so I drove the car back to Sacramento and took it to Challenge motors upon arrival to sacramento at the Florin road store. I've brought my other vehicle here (at the 24th street location), so I thought I could bring this car here also. When I arrived, he remembered me from my other vehicle. I stated I wanted a tune up, which is chage plugs etc.He said the price would be $170, I said okay and wanted the work done. So he asked me "how do you know thats all the car need, my wife has the same car....I know it needs more than that!" I'm wondering like how he knows it need more than that and he have't even looked at the vehicle?? So I told him just do the tune up...and he agreed! Now, when I came to pay and pick up the vehicle he said I need a diagnostic done and he can do that for $180...I usually say go ahead and get it done, but this time I refused the diagnostic and paid for my service got my receipt and left. Now mind you this vehicle has been dealer serviced so when I drove it to sac from Dublin, Ca. the vehicle drove fine. Now, on the freeway home my vehicle started sputtering. So I immediatly parked the vehicle. Got online and found a SVS to work on the vehicle ([redacted]Auto Works) and took the vehicle there. Asked them to do a diagnostic and check and fix my vehicle, he said okay, diagnogstic is $80, and he will call to let me know. Three days later, the mechanic called and said someone disconnected a few sensor plugs, catalac converter plug, turbo plug was unpluged, and a few other items which blew out one of my fuel injectors....wowwwwwww, couldn't belive this guy at challenge motors.... cost at [redacted], a certified [redacted] Specialist, done right around $350. And the owner of challenge motors did the work on my vehicle...he always have, til now. He could have blew my engine, he is not an honest mechanic, and he over prices all work.Desired Settlement: I paid challenge motors $170.00 for spark plugs to be changed and he disconnected alot key items that could have caused my vehicle engine, as well as catalac converter to go out if kept driven. All I want is my $350 it took for me to get my vehicle back running like it was before I took it to challenge motors. And I will never shop here again!
