Chamberlayne Auto & Sales Reviews (5)

They have the worst customer service ever. On my paper work the date states that I purchased the car on May 26, 2016, when the car wasn't purchased until June 10, 2016. I was told by Chamberlayne auto over and over again that my first payment wasn't do until July 10, 2016. But yet I was contacted by a credit company on June 26, 2016 stating that I had missed my first car payment. I was horrified because I didn't have the money at the time because I had it all planned out with the information they gave me. So Chamberlayne Auto did pay it but they are expecting me to pay them back for their mistake. On top of that there was yellow dye in my compressor which means they knew my AC would not work. When I try to use my AC my car stops dead every time. Before I rolled off the lot the day of purchasing the car they claimed the AC would take a while to come on due to not being started for at least a week and sitting in the sun. I feel dumb & taken advantage of since I am a female and do not know that much about vehicles. These people have made my life a living hell and extremely stressful.

Review: First of all, I was interested in financing a [redacted] in which I made a down payment of $500 but didn't realize I needed to purchase insurance before removing the vehicle away from the lot. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford car insurance at the time so I told them to cancel the contract and they agreed for me to come in and collect my down payment deposit but when I got there it was a total different story. For some strange reason, I felt like I was somewhat being pressured to borrow the money from someone I knew so I called my father to ask if he could help. Apparently, my father didn't like the way the salesman was pressing him either or the way he was conducting business so they had words over the phone. After that, he told me to come in the morning so the owner could see me straight and they personally told my father that same evening he could pick it up for me being he lives in [redacted] which is much closer than [redacted] where I live. Once he got there the next morning it was again another whole story so him and the so-called owner (I believe his name is Oliver) had words as well. I tried calling numerous times to handle the dispute and was often told they'll get back in contact with me but they never did and now it's like my number is being screened. The salesman name is Marcus and for the past week week I been trying to get in contact with him and the so-called owner countless times after finding out who's the real owner-his wife. I'm a first time car buyer and I have very little knowledge of how the procedure works but I let the excitement of coming close to having my own vehicle run me up on a snag.Desired Settlement: Being that I never got a chance to leave the lot with the vehicle, I would like for them to refund my down payment deposit of $500 so I could move forward and put this all behind, that's all!

Review: The said owner of this establishment is very unprofessional. The entire time I was there to purchase the car he made passes at me even when asked to stop, he also told several lies including asking me to lie to the lender on his behalf. When I bought up concerns I had with vehicle he not orole told me it would be fixed the next day but he also said that he would give me a loaner until mine was fixe. Neither of these happened. A week before my 30 day tags were to expire I contacted the business to remind them and he assured me that my plates would be ready before they expired. I went to the office on the day they were scheduled to expire and if course my tags had not been obtained from the DMV.. When I expressed my concerns he said that the police wouldn't bother me and that I had to come back the next day to get another set of 30 day tags. At this time none of these concerns have been addressed. I am currently driving with tags that are more than 30 days old.Desired Settlement: I would like the repairs needed to be made and I would like to receive my permanent license plates.

Review: I purchased a [redacted] on 11/7/14 from Chamberlayne Auto Sales[redacted] from [redacted]. A down payment of $500.00 was made on 11/7/14 and $200.00 on 11/28/14. I neverr received a copy of the contract-I was promised by [redacted] to get copy on 11/10/14. After one week I had problems with the car-spoke to [redacted] and was told he couldn't do anything because he didn't have the tools and no mechanic was available. I had the car towed by [redacted] to another shop to buy a tire for $45.00. Within 4 days the car ran hot cut off after crossing Railroad tracks at 9:30 PM. Again called [redacted] to tow the car to my home. I had the car checked by a mechanic and was told that anti-freeze was leaking a hole in the water pump and the oil needed to be changed...I returned the car to Chamberlayne Auto by [redacted] again leaving the key, 30 days tags on the desk. On 12/16/14 I received a letter from [redacted] indicating that the vehicle was being sent to the Auction for sale. I'm truly dissatisfied with Chamberlayne Auto Sales because I was told today by [redacted] that he couldn't give my money back because it had been sent to the state. Please advise- I'm 65 and do not need this drama.

Regards,

Ms. [redacted] contacted Revdex.com after she received the response from the business. The business has not responded to her since 2014 and the response she received she states does not even address the real issues. The business never gave her a copy of the contract. However, the vehicle was not a repo it was returned to the business due to issues it was having as soon as she bought the vehicle.

Regards,

I purchased a 2005 Dodge Stratus in Nov. 2014. I used the car for two weeks before having issues. Flat tire- put air in the tire I heard a sizzling noise and it was flat the next morning. I called [redacted] to ask if his tow truck could pick up the car- he had no tow truck, no compressor and no mechanic. I asked for a refund of $500.00 plus $200.00. He told me he couldn't refund the money because he gave it to the State and hung up the phone. I used my [redacted] card to tow the car to a shop to remove the flat and purchase another tire. Less than two weeks before Thanksgiving- the car cut off on the Railroad tracks @ 9:30 pm. Again I called [redacted] to TOW ME & THE CAR HOME. The driver told me the car was leaking Anti-freeze to get it checked. The next day I called my mechanic to check- He said the car kept cutting off because it needed a water pump. I called [redacted] again they towed the car to Chamberlayne Auto Sales. I rode behind the [redacted] truck, went inside and [redacted] was with a customer. I asked his employee to give him the 30 day tag and the car keys. When I left [redacted] was talking with the [redacted] driver.

I had previously reported this situation to Revdex.com and received a confirmation letter. Also received a copy of the contract for the car that I didn't receive at the time of purchase. I was told by [redacted] to come back that Monday and he would give me the copies. I'm not expecting Revdex.com to pursue this situation.

Review: Went in on October 26 after we had a phone conversation stating that I only had to put down $500 and I could drive the same day.know I was tolded I had to put down $2000 on a used vehicle and when my tags expired I was informed that they were waiting on the title to come in so they tolded me a vehicle with no title I had to park my vehicle that I couldn't drive because the tags expired they kept giving me the run around about my tags and after my attorney called them (which they hung up in her face) I received my tags December 18,2015 they said that they couldnt issuse me a second set of 30 day tags when my father called they are very unorganized and very disrepectful.I have had problems with the vehicle the second day I had it it cut off on my leaving work theres a ticking noise when the vehicle was bought back they always said the vehicle was fine and I new that they were lying I took it to another mechanic and got what the issues was and its dealing with something in the noise coming from the engine. They don't care how they talk to females and I'm not going to let them treat me or anyone else like that. There wrong and they should have more respect for their customers I've been nothing but respectful and patient and I'm not going to be treated like this ive seen messages on Facebook from how they treat woman and how bad there business is if I knew what I know now I would have never went to them.Desired Settlement: I just want them to know that what they are doing is unacceptable and I would rather keep my name private.they are selling false advertisment and trying to scem people out of there money and how they treat and talk to people is not right.
